Happiness as a choice; choose wisely

Being happy and staying happy is one difficult task that we find it difficult to accomplish, most times we stretch ourselves in our quest to be happy and remain happy, but the more we try the difficult it becomes. We have everything we need, yet we are still unhappy, with all our wealth we still look miserable. I realize that happiness is not measured by what we have, nor by our achievement, but it all depends on the state of our hearts (mind), most times we have little and feel great joy because we have set our heart right.

In life we are not competing. So we have to focus on what we have that makes us happy rather than focusing on what we don’t have and remain miserable. Our happiness shouldn't be as a result of an event or what we have, rather it should be our lifestyle. Unhappy mood can affect other people around us, no one wants someone harping on negativity and unhappiness. When we are unhappy, we continue to talk about how unhappy we are, we bring other people down with our unhappiness through our words and our actions.

Happiness should be a way of living our life, as we fight to achieve what ever we desire, we should also fight to stay happy, not through physical combat, but it's the battle of the mind. We are faced daily with things that only come to steal and kill our happiness, but it's our responsibility to fight it to remain happy.
The fact remained, if we structure our lives in a way that our happiness is dependent upon something we cannot control, we will experience long lasting pain. But the way out is knowing ourselves, developing positive self regard, building optimism, creating good relationships, practicing gratitude and managing our emotions are important keys and skills which enhance our happiness.

Happiness is a skill that can be learned. It begins by recognizing that facts are neutral and fight to attain it. Our mind is the center of everything, what we decide about our lives proceeds from our heart (mind) so is happiness and sadness. So if we want to be happy we have to channel our minds to happiness and stay happy, and if it's sadness, then we allow the situation of life to overwhelm us and bring that unhappy mood in us.

Happiness is the state of our mind that infuses positive energy, it enables us to look at situations with optimism helping us to accept our own shortcomings and those of others, generating enthusiasm and creating a greater & brighter Future for ourselves and people around us.

Oftentimes, we are caught between our actual self and our ideal self. We constantly feel guilty and we never accept our inadequacies, which are constantly causing perpetual unhappiness for us. Accepting ourselves does not mean maintaining the status quo or living with our weaknesses. It is taking accountability, and moving with responsibility, believing in ourselves and being able to move on the path of self improvement without being judgmental and critical of ourselves. Negative feelings about ourselves only depletes our energy, brings down our self-confidence, and reduces our ability to take action. If we want to improve and stay happy then we have to control our thoughts and organize them. Taking ownership of our actions, and being responsible gives us the power to change our situation. This power gives immense self-confidence, promotes positive feelings, enhances life satisfaction and engenders happiness.

Another factor that steals our happiness is living in comparison: It is important to focus on our goals and achievements and maintain positivity despite inevitable fluctuations in our performance, relatively to other people. Comparing material gains, successes, achievements, etc. with others leads to feelings of self-deprecating and unhappy states, so we have to fight and conquer comparison. People should not dictate our worth and control our happiness.

It is out of our storeroom that we can share with others, if happiness is not in our storeroom we cannot share it with others, so we are to multiply our happiness by being happy always because happy people do better in life, creating positive emotions actively as well as helping people create desirable outcomes.

Happiness is finding joy within rather than outside. Finding it within gives us the strength and confidence to face forthcoming challenges. It should be practiced as a habit, it should not be momentous but it should be continuous, we should understand that our mind is the center of happiness and sadness. So we are to guide our hearts (mind) diligently if we want to fight and win the battle for happiness.

Winning the battle for happiness is a journey, not a destination. It's essential to be patient, kind, and compassionate with ourselves as we work through the ups and downs of life. Keep shining, and remember that happiness is a choice that's always within our reach.

Wow!, you are right, happiness is really a choice, no matter the things we faced, we can still choose to stay happy, I want to keep this choice of staying happy.
