Cartoon vs Animation: Identified by its differences and purpose

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog.

While growing I often sit down and ask myself how will a cat and mouse be talking and they are communicating with humans? I've not yet gotten answers for that, I saw another one and it was an upgraded version of it, people that are being crafted are also talking 😂. I grew up never to like cartoon or animation because on the normal sense those animals cannot talk. So my cousin came to the house and told me he has a movie for me, I love watching movie alot and he exclaimed it's very interesting. About getting it I discovered that it was this talking animals so I loss interest, but he persuaded me. When I finally got the animation from him, I was enjoying every bit of it. It was titled "Moana" I had to watch a d rewatch it. That was how I started watching animation.

So with that I get to asked cartoon and animation are they not the same thing? I get to first discover the origin of them. Animation originated from Japan in the early 20th century and it was seen a Japanese style back then, while Cartoons originated from in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and were initially created for comedic purposes. They might look similar but they have different purposes which have to be met.

And the key differences between animation and cartoons is the target for the audience and their mode of entertainment. Animation can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages, there is no age restriction because it communicates in clear terms it is typically geared towards a more mature audience and it often deals with darker and more serious themes. It has evolved into a distinct form of animation with its own unique style and storytelling conventions. Animation is known for its intricate and complex storytelling or storylines which often features multiple plotlines and character arcs that are woven together to create a rich and immersive experience. Animation is also characterized by its distinct art style, which features intricate its backgrounds, and fluid animation. It is also known for its wide range of genres, that includes action, romance, comedy, etc.

Cartoons, on the other hand, are typically less complex and often rely on simple and straightforward storytelling or storylines but this doesn't mean that cartoons are lacking in creativity or originality, it does mean that animation is often better suited to those who are looking for a more in-depth and complex viewing experience. Cartoons are aimed at younger audiences (children) and often feature light-hearted and humorous themes.

So in all animation and cartoons might be the same thing but its purpose or target is the audience which happens to be a clear difference between them. So whether we prefer animation or cartoons, both provide a varied and immersive viewing experience that can enchant and delight everyone without age limitations.
This is my response for today's inleo daily prompt.
