Entre los escritores peruanos que más he leído está Alonso Cueto, sus novelas encajan mucho conmigo, su estilo e historias tienden a gustarme y por el momento planeo seguir leyendo toda novela suya que acabe en mi poder. El título que reseño hoy fue publicado el 2017.
Among the Peruvian writers I have read the most is Alonso Cueto. His novels really resonate with me; I tend to like his style and stories, and for now, I plan to continue reading every novel of his that I can get my hands on. The title I am reviewing today was published in 2017.
Sinopsis: Gustavo le pide al divorcio a Lali, luego de revelarle de una amante de la que esta muy enamorado; sin embargo, Lali está acostumbrada a la vida de casada con un empresario que la mantiene en la alta sociedad. Con ello en mente, decide llevar a cabo un plan que quitara a la amante de su futuro, con las consecuencias inesperadas que traerá.
Synopsis: Gustavo asks Lali for a divorce after revealing that he has a lover with whom he is deeply in love. However, Lali is accustomed to married life with a businessman who keeps her in high society. With this in mind, she decides to carry out a plan that will remove the lover from his future, with unexpected consequences.

La novela se divide en 2 partes. Una primera enfocada en conocer a los personajes principales y la danza que realizan para buscar sus propias ilusiones. Pues cada personaje de los 3 mencionados están jugando con fuego, y es obvio que luego de comenzar el plan llevado por Lali y otro personaje, no dará los resultados que planean. Esta primera parte me gusto bastante, y creo que si hubiera seguido por este tono, sería una excelente novela.
The novel is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on getting to know the main characters and the dance they perform in search of their own dreams. Each of the three characters mentioned is playing with fire, and it is obvious that after Lali and another character begin their plan, it will not yield the results they had hoped for. I really liked this first part, and I think that if it had continued in this vein, it would have been an excellent novel.
El problema surge con la 2da parte que se vuelva un policial rutinario cuando mucho de los entresijos de la historia ya han sido contados, así que poca sorpresa hay, además que el aspecto más emocional, más introspectivo y la búsqueda de ilusiones de los personajes es dejado de lado, sintiéndose abrupto. Creo que se pudo ahondar más en el pasado de ciertos personajes, para entender sus personalidades.
The problem arises in the second part, which becomes a routine detective story when most of the ins and outs of the story have already been told, so there are few surprises. In addition, the more emotional, introspective aspect and the characters' search for dreams is left aside, feeling abrupt. I think the past of certain characters could have been explored more deeply to understand their personalities.

A pesar de lo dicho, uno se queda con ideas muy interesantes de lo leído, como ya dije por una buena primera parte. Es un libro sencillo de leer y que me lo pude acabar en pocos días.
Despite this, one is left with very interesting ideas from what one has read, as I said, thanks to a good first part. It is an easy book to read, and I was able to finish it in a few days.
En todo caso, si bien no es su mejor novela, siempre una historia de Alonso Cueto me deja con ideas para pensar.
