Ya había leído a este autor, experto en psiquiatría, los libros dedicados a Spinoza y Nietzsche, en ambos se notaba su habilidad para tratar de comprender los personajes conocidos y tratar de entender sus ideas. En esta ocasión con personajes propios va mucho más allá. Publicado en 1996.

I had already read this author, an expert in psychiatry, whose books are dedicated to Spinoza and Nietzsche. In both, his ability to understand well-known figures and their ideas was evident. On this occasion, with his own characters, he goes much further. Published in 1996.

Sinopsis: Ernest Lash, un psiquiatra, tras recibir el testimonio de un referente expulsado(Seymour) por una polémica, debe decidir cómo afrontar su profesión, dando mayor cabida a la autenticidad; sin embargo, el problema colateral que lleva uno de sus pacientes, le harán sufrir esa decisión. Por otro lado, otro psiquiatra, Marshal verá como es de importante mantener ciertas reglas con el dinero de sus clientes, además de afrontar su propia soberbia.

Synopsis: Ernest Lash, a psychiatrist, after receiving testimony from a leading figure (Seymour) who has been expelled due to controversy, must decide how to approach his profession, giving greater importance to authenticity; however, the collateral problem that one of his patients brings will make him suffer for that decision. On the other hand, another psychiatrist, Marshal, will see how important it is to maintain certain rules with his clients' money, as well as confront his own arrogance.

La psiquiatría es una profesión interesante de leer en novela, pues al tratar diversos clientes, vemos como sus problemas se pueden asemejar a los nuestros, y como de alguna manera evitamos ciertas preguntas, para avanzar. Da mucho para pensar, en mi caso me hice parar varias veces en la lectura, intentando ver semejanzas en las problemáticas analizadas.

Psychiatry is an interesting profession to read about in a novel, because as we deal with different clients, we see how their problems can resemble our own, and how we somehow avoid certain questions in order to move forward. It gives you a lot to think about. In my case, I found myself stopping several times while reading, trying to see similarities in the issues analyzed.

En este título veremos a varios psiquiatras con su propio estilo de afrontar el análisis de sus clientes, y algo que puede ser una solución olvida el caos que puede llegar a ser la conducta humana. Con ello, habrá mucho de comedia de enredos, mientras se va conociendo a los personajes, su trasfondo y motivos para conductas que les pueden hacer daño.

In this title, we see several psychiatrists with their own style of approaching the analysis of their clients, and something that may be a solution to the chaos that human behavior can become. With this, there will be a lot of comedy of errors as we get to know the characters, their backgrounds, and the reasons for behaviors that can hurt them.

Y es que los clientes no lo ponen nada facil a los analistas, tratando de evitar una solución, mientras le ofrecen dinero, sexo o volverlos cómplices de un trato.

The fact is that clients don't make it easy for analysts, trying to avoid a solution while offering them money, sex, or making them accomplices to a deal.

Si bien hay 2 casos principales, por mencionar algo, lo interesante es ver cómo los personajes logran enfrentarse a sí mismos, y avanzar del caos mental que puede llegar a ponernos la vida.

Although there are two main cases, to mention a few, what is interesting is to see how the characters manage to face themselves and move forward from the mental chaos that life can bring us.

Por otro lado veremos un poco del mundo de esa profesión, sus juicios, sus reglas, los problemas que pueden afrontar, e incluso sus falencias.

On the other hand, we will see a little of the world of that profession, its judgments, its rules, the problems it can face, and even its shortcomings.

Es un libro fácil de leer, e incluso un tanto adictivo. Si te interesa conocer el mundo de los discípulos de Freud, es un buen libro para hacerlo. Recomendable.

It is an easy book to read, and even somewhat addictive. If you are interested in learning about the world of Freud's disciples, this is a good book to do so. Recommended.
