Trusting yourself
Hello everyone, Good morning and welcome to my blog special thanks to the @hivereachout for a wonderful prompt They influence one's attitudes, behavior, and perception of oneself. One's attitude, behavior, and perception toward oneself are influenced as well.
Thus, confidence and high self-esteem may play roles in all aspects of human life relationship-wise to achieving career success.
Confidence is the entire assurance in oneself coupled with capabilities. It manifests as a feeling that one can be able to face challenges, make judgments, or face any risks. Self-confident people are most likely going to grab opportunities. They will speak up for themselves and pursue goals with determination. Hence, confidence helps one overcome setbacks and failures, since one is all the time convinced that easy resilience and continuation will be possible.
Self-esteem, on the other hand, is the total subjective estimation of how much worth one has and values being a person; it is that internal belief in eligibility for love, accolade, and success by a person. High self-esteem people are less affected by criticism and rejection since they possess internal self-worth which is hard to shatter. They are likely to communicate boundaries, self-advocate, and prioritize their needs.
Thus, confidence and self-esteem are really connected because one's belief in his abilities usually depends on his sense of self-worth. If a person has confidence in herself and gives importance to her worth, she is very likely to take risks, pursue her dream, and assert herself in different situations.
However, building confidence and keeping it is not so easy. Many things can change the perception of the self, and dimensions such as past experiences, social comparison, and society's standards come into one's life. Conditions like negative self-talk, perfectionism, and fear of failure also create resentment in individuals.
You can certainly increase your self-confidence and self-esteem. One way is through self-care and self-love. Taking care of one's body, mind, and emotions can have individuals feeling better about who they are and what they can do. Happiness and fulfillment can be derived from activities that take up time and build one's self-esteem and social confidence.
So, achieving possible realistic goals is a good source of self-esteem boost, as well as appreciating small milestones achieved and wins along the way, thus keeping a positive self-image. On the other hand, sharing space with supportive, uplifting people often results in upward-moving self-confidence and esteem because healthy relationships foster validation and reassurance.
Confidence and self-esteem can be developed through activities that tease a little bit into one's comfort zone; they may take risks outside of their comfort zone, thus giving way to growth and self-confidence. Trying to learn new things, do different things, and dare to face fears are all ways to feel competence and self-worth.
These two qualities are the ultimate assets in the lives of individuals, making every individual's life successful and fulfilled. With self-care, goals, relationships, and challenges taken on, people build a great degree of worth in themselves and their capabilities. They don't have fixed traits but can be developed and honed for life through consistent practice.
