Truth and Lies
If there's one thing trying to be honest all the time has taught me, it is that the world is a very dishonest place, and people who try to be completely honest end up paying a huge price for it.
Now there are people in this world who are comfortable paying this price because they would rather do that than watch their self become who they're not. And while that feels noble, I feel like most times, having to make that decision depends on where you are in the world.
Your status and, more importantly, your location. Because unless you're ready to pay the ultimate price, which could cost you your life, then trying to be the honest guy all the time (emphasis on all the time) might not be the best thing to do.
There are people who are currently sitting in prison for being honest. As a matter of fact, the motivation behind today's blog was due to an event that happened to me recently. I got judged in a way and manner I didn't like, simply because I had chosen to tell the truth, rather than tell a lie and just get the entire situation over with.
Someone very important in my life would always tell me that if there's a group of people I shouldn't lie to, it should be my family. But when it comes to everyone else, first assess the situation and decide what works best for you. If telling a lie would ensure you get to live to see tomorrow, then do that.
It might not seem like the best idea in the world out there, but when you live in a country where saying yes or no could determine the rest of your entire life in a situation that doesn't even concern you directly, then you'd realize that maybe telling a little lie every now and then isn't exactly as bad as it seems.

As long as a lie is good for you, you should not hesitate to lie as being selfish in the present world is good and people don't care about you or me. What they think doesn't matters.
