Times has Changed

Earlier today, while I was at home, it occurred to me that the Bluetooth speaker I had owned for some months now could have radio on it, so I picked it up and played around with it a bit, only to discover that it did have radio on it.

So I turned it on, and for some reason, every radio station I went on had music playing on it, probably because it was around 2pm and not a lot of news gets on the radio by that time. But I kept on moving from one channel to another, hoping to at least find one channel where they may be giving news, but to my disappointment, I couldn't find any, and that was when it hit me.

If they had told me fifteen years ago that a time would come where I would be on the radio, desperately trying to find the news, I probably would have doubted it. Those many years ago, I used to own a little radio that I would mostly only turn on in the afternoon, because I knew that mornings and evenings were times when the news came on, and seeing how I wasn't interested in it, I would wait till noon.

And yet, here I am, some few years later, just casually ignoring the one thing I had so much adorned those many years ago and yearning for the same thing I had also hated those years ago. It is moments like this that unintentionally just show us how much we've grown.

And I love getting reminded about it, because sometimes it makes me take a pause from reality and just take a moment to reminisce about the good old days, the days I probably never thought I would outgrow.

Indeed, with time many things changed and our choice is also one of those. The thing for what we were very much interested in the past may not make us even curious for those thing.
