Mind Control

It's amazing how oblivious we are to certain things and people, until we've had personal encounters with them and then we start to see them everywhere, almost as if they're following us everywhere.

Some few days ago, I had written about how I and my friends at the hostel had gone to play football that ended up badly. What I didn't tell you guys about the fight that happened was that someone had ended up almost losing an eye and another guy who apparently was a cultist (we didn't know at the time), had threatened to come back at us with some other guys in his fraternity.

Luckily for us, we found a way to patch things up without causing anymore trouble, and while doing that, we had ended up spending more time with these guys that we had fought with and we kinda ended up bonding a little bit before going our seperate ways.

What's weird to me now is how everyday for the past few days, I've seen these guys every where I look. Now that shouldn't exactly be weird to me, considering the fact that we all stay in the same street.

But what's fascinating to me is that these guys didn't just move into the street, they've always been here and I probably must have seen them more than a hundred times in the past, but just because we never really had an encounter, my brain didn't register their faces at the time until now.

And that's amazing to me because it just shows how our minds work on it's own, choosing what to register and what to ignore without us even knowing it. It's a bit scary because it shows how we're not fully in control of our minds as much as we would like to think that we are.
