I would If I Could

If I could travel back in time while still having the current knowledge of how things are right now, there are a lot of things I would change, and also a lot of things I would treasure.

Some of these things are stuff that were irrelevant to us back then, things we thought would always be there in our lives, so we paid little to no attention to it.

One of those things were my high school days. I remember, back in high school, I couldn't wait to be done with the damn thing and was always looking forward to the weekend. And then the day finally came, I remember being so excited and all that.

But fast-forward to a month later, and I found myself missing my friends and that was normal, what I didn't think would happen was me missing the facts that I didn't cherish some moments the way I should have, many years later.

Earlier today, I had seen a video that showed what happens between periods, after a teacher leaves your class, and you're waiting for the next one to come in. And watching that video, coupled with the background sound, took me to a place where I found myself thinking about those moments in real life.

What's crazy is that I never something like that, that I've always thought to be insignificant, would end up making me feel this way many years later.

Because just like in that video, my classmates and I always had the best of funs in between periods, and we would always wish that the next teacher wouldn't be here on time so that we could continue playing games, some of which were creatively invented ourselves like the pen game, or the multiplayer game on our phones that we weren't allowed to bring to school but did anyway.

And then the best moments was when it rained and the entire classroom was too dark for the teachers to write anything on the board, so they leave and we have free periods to either sleep, gossip and do whatever it was we wanted to do.

Unfortunately, it's too late now to think about moments like that because it's gone but not forgotten. But those were fun times, fun times.

By the way, isn't it crazy how the best memories we have of schools always has nothing to do with learning itself? Lol!
