Avoiding the Greater Evil

I had stayed indoors for the majority of today until later this evening when I eventually decided to go sit outside. When I went outside, I met two guys and a lady seated and drinking. From the looks of things, it seemed they had been drinking for a while, but what surprised me was that while both guys were complaining about feeling tipsy, the lady seemed totally fine.

We eventually got talking, and she opened up to me that she has always been someone who likes to drink, and she has gotten to a point where she no longer gets intoxicated easily. I tried letting her know that something like that wasn't good, especially for a lady, but then she made a point to me that kind of inspired today's blog.

She had mentioned that due to the fact that she now has this high tolerance when it comes to alcohol, she no longer finds herself at risk whenever she goes out with guys and they try to get her drunk just to have their way with her.

She explained to me that there had been several occasions where people tried to take advantage of her, but due to the fact that she wasn't as drunk as they thought she was, she was able to walk out of that situation.

Basically, she was telling me that inasmuch as drinking wasn't entirely a good thing, it is better to learn that bad thing and how it works in order to save yourself from more bad things in the future. It's like learning how to pick a lock so that when you find yourself behind closed doors and you need to run for your life, you can easily pick that lock and escape.

What do you guys think, though? Do you agree with her logic, or do you think she's just making up excuses to drink more?

It's a ridiculous logic in my opinion. If she is really concerned about it, she should avoid drinking alcohol. The real reason is that she want to drink and that's why she find it as an excuse. Nothing more than it. It's a common psychology.

I agree with you but don't you feel there might be a bit of sense in what she said though?
