Opened 5 LadyLuck Packs — Pulled My First Legendary! (StakeHouse Den)
Hello and welcome to my blog.

I used to be way more active on Web3 games and slowly shifted my focus to web2 PC games, but I always had that itch to go back and learn about more Web3 games. That was the reason why I joined this platform in the first place. I have been noticing many new web3 games lately, but my lazy ass didn't want to work and read about them. But all this is now changing.
I had been seeing the Arcade Colony Platform games and wanted to dive into one of those. This meant reading their whitepapers and then looking at the variety of games they have.

I went to Stakehouse Den and read its whitepaper. I was a splinterlands enthusiast, so it didn't take me long to understand the whitepaper. You can read it here.
It's not a free-to-play game, and there is an initial investment required, buying and staking packs/cards and 2 Script per card staked. I looked at the market and saw people selling individual cards at what looked like quite a high price to me. So, I decided to buy some packs.
Bought 5 LadyLuck Packs!
The packs in Stakehouse Den are called LadyLuck. I like the name. Every Pack was $4, and the first 25K packs in the pre-sale were available for $2 each. Sadly, that presale is long over, and now we can only buy the $4 packs (or 4000 credits each).

I used credits to buy those packs, 20K credits, which cost me about 80 Hive.

A single pack contains 5 cards. These cards have varieties like Common (69% chance), Rare(25%), Epic (4%) and Legendary (2%). There is a 4% for the card to be a Gold Foil. You can further increase the chances of getting a Gold Foil from a pack by purchasing and using Gold Flux, which doubles the chances. Similarly, you can buy Legendary Flux and double the chances of receiving a legendary.
Since I was about to open 5 packs, totalling 5x5 = 25 cards, I bought both the flux just to increase my Gold Foil and Legendary Flux chances. I didn't want to waste those precious packs without using flux.
Here is what I got from those packs.
16 of those 25 cards were Common cards. Nothing exciting about them.

None of the Commons were Gold Foils either.
Rares have 25% of dropping from the packs. I got four of them.

One of them was even a Gold Foil. Not bad!
That's the only Gold Foil I got from these packs, despite using the Gold Flux on all of them. I feel like I got unlucky with the Gold Foil cards.
Now moving on to the Epic and Legendary Section. I got only one Epic card out of the five packs. That's a bit unlucky again, I feel. But it is better than nothing, I guess. The Ace of Clubs.
I was not confident of getting a Legendary from just these 5 packs, but the 4th pack gave me a Legendary card. A Black Joker! This made me feel much better. This is my first legendary in the game, and hopefully, I will get many more in the coming days.

Merging and Staking!
Merging and Staking cards is a vital part of the game. Merging similar cards, just like in Splinterlands, will increase the level of the cards, which determines how many bottles of Hot Sauce are generated. The higher the levels of the cards staked, the more this non-transferable currency is generated, which is used to play the games in the virtual casino.
For each card staked, we need to stake 2 Script tokens as well. So, I went on and bought the Script tokens. I spent another 30 Swap.Hive to get almost 16 SCRIPT tokens from HiveEngine.
Buying SCRIPT tokens
It took me some time to find the button to send these tokens from Hive Engine to In-game. Felt like an idiot, after I found it lol.

I staked 16 SCRIPTs, which means I could stake 8 cards easily. I went to the game to see which cards I could stake.

Staking Cards!
The "Hot Sauce" generation factor is a bit weird for the level 1 Legendary. A level one legendary will generate just 2 Hot Sauce, the same as level 1 Rare or Epic. And you need 3 legendary cards to merge and make it into a Level 2 Legendary. I don't know how long it will take me to achieve that. So, I didn't stake this legendary for now.
Apart from this, I staked all my Rares and Epics, including the Gold Foil and a few Commons, just so I have a total of 8 staked cards now.

My current hot source generation is 14 now. They will be stored in a Refrigerator. The default capacity is just 50 Hot Sauce, which can be increased by buying more with Scrips. I have 450 cap now, which should be enough for some time.

I am still trying to understand how all the things work in this game. If someone has some tips or tricks or just wants to give some general advice on Merging, Staking or any other aspect of the game, do let me know in the comments.

Nice!!
Looks interesting. But in the past I already lost a lot of Hive by buying splinterlands packs and playing Hive slot games. So I think that I will pass on this because my gambling problem could get worse.
lol, makes sense.
