My Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! Imperial Knight

Hello guys, this is my entry to the "Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!". If you want to participate and/or read more about the challenge, click here.
We are at the start of another season of Splinterlands and like always we are forming new strategies and trying out new units and just experimenting a lot. This week I will talk about another interesting unit that I don't use a lot in my battles but I have developed liking it just recently. This is a soulbound card called Imperial Knight. This is just a common life unit but is one of the strongest tanks in this element. I will show you why, let's take a look at its stats in detail.

Impeiral Knight
Imperial Knight is a strong common unit from the Life element. It is both a powerful attacker and defender. Costing just 7 mana it justifies this cost easily with its strong melee attack damage of 2 and an even stronger defensive capabilities. It comes with a lot of health and armor so it becomes an avid defender and can be used as a tank in your lineup.
I had a level 3 unit which deals 2 melee attack damage with 2-speed points. It comes with a huge amount of health, 8 hp to be exact and 6 shields which makes it a perfect candidate to be used as a tank in the first position. It comes with a useful ability as well, the 'Void Armor' ability. This will not let mages ignore the shield on this unit.
Let's see how I utilized it in one of my battles. Any guesses? xD

My Lineup
This is my lineup for the battle
It was a 40-mana cap battle and had the following rulesets:
Odd Ones Out: Only monsters with odd mana costs may be used in battles.
Equalizer: The initial health of all the monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.
All except Water elements were active during this battle. Which made me confused about which summoner to use. But in the end, I went with the Ilthain which gives all the friendly monster's a 'return fire' ability.

I used the Imperial Knight in the first position. That was no surprise as it is one of the best tanks and should be used at the front and not just for soaking damage it deals a lot of damage as well. A strong tank at the front of the lineup is very crucial to the health of the entire lineup.
In the next position, I used the Djinn Renova. This was a magic attacker dealing 3 magic damage with good speed. It costs 7 mana as well and had the 'strengthen' ability which increased the health of all my units by 1.
Next in my lineup was another unit that costs 7 mana as well. Adelade Brightwing, another mage dealing 2 magic attack damage and had a lot of health. The best part about this is its abilities which are so powerful and makes it a legendary unit. The 'repair' ability is very useful, especially when paired with a tank with a lot of armour.
Another legendary unit on my lineup was Zyriel, this is a multi-element unit and also costs 7 mana but deals a lot of damage. The only downside is its relatively lower health and that's the reason I put it in fourth place in my lineup to shield it as good as I can.
Uraeus came in the next position, only costing 3 mana it is a powerful striker as well. It dealt 2 melee attacks with a 'sneak' ability so it helps to attack those units placed at the end of the lineup and more often than not weaker monsters are found at the end of the lineup.
Last but not least was Portal Spinner, another cheaper unit costing just 5 mana but dealing 3 range attacks. It comes with 2 shields of its own which is a good thing if the opponent has some 'sneaky' monsters.
Now that my lineup was set, it was time for battle.

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to YouTube.

My Strategy
Because of 40 mana to spare and not a lot of limitations because of the ruleset. I can use my units more confidently.
Also, the Equalizer ruleset made it much easier for me to focus only on the attacks and extra armour and abilities rather than the base health of all the monsters.
Imperial Knight was a good contender for the position of the tank as it had a lot of extra shields with 'Void Armor' ability and not even mages can deal damage to the health without getting rid of that armour.
Since I had used a unit that can sort of counter the magic damage, I went for the Ilthain summoner that gave the 'return fire' ability to all my friendly units. I focused more on attacking strength rather than defensive capabilities at the end of the lineup.
This strategy, as you will see, worked in my favour and gave me an easy win in the end.

My opponent went with the Death summoner and unlucky for them, they used two powerful ranged attackers which is going to be suicidal against the return fire ability.
They did use a good unit as their tank but I had enough mages to ignore those extra shield on it and eliminated it by the end of round 1.
Round 2 was a moving round and first, my Imperial Knight got eliminated. And by the end of this round, my return fire showed its power and successfullyy eliminated another unit that tried to attack me with a ranged attack.
It all went south from here for my opponent. One after the other all of their units got eliminated and they were left with only Silent Sha-vi who tried to survive but failed miserably against my attacking prowess.
It was an easy win for me at the end.

Conclusion
As you just saw in the above battle, Imperial Knight can be a single decisive factor in your lineup, It absorbed many attacks from my enemy team and stood firm at the start of the lineup for almost 2 rounds.
Its attacking strength was on full display as well, as my units took down the entire units in only 4 rounds. So, you can see how powerful it can be in both aspects of the game. It can help the front line for a long duration of time while you can attack the enemy units from behind and take down even the most powerful of compositions.
It justifies the 7 mana costs easily and can be a game-changer in most lineups. I recommend using it. It has some advantages in a few rulesets as well. So make sure you exploit those as well.
I recommend this unit. Let me know if you use any other strategies and what are your views about this unit.
