Elden Ring: Carian Manor Boss, Missing Dragon, Wolves and More!
Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Carian manor proved to be a tough area, a lot of nasty hands and ghastly soldiers were everywhere. This was not a big place, but enough to frustrate you, filled with enemies like this magical giant who had a big magical sword that he dropped too. But like most giant swords that I collected recently, this one required a lot more strength and some other attribute, like intelligence or arcane, which I didn't have.
But this was nothing compared to what I was gonna face right after this. A tough boss surprised me in this area. The Royal Knight Loretta, a knight riding a horse, uses powerful glintstone sorceries with a giant bow. She was very quick, too, and those ranged attacks were very punishing. I could only defend against her physical attack, not the magical ones. It took me close to 10 tries to take it down with the help of my knight spirit. That too, on the side of the arena where I can get behind the giant stone to not get hit by the glintstone sorcery attacks. I was too much into the fight that I forgot to even take a screenshot.
Glintstone Dragon Adula
The next door took us out behind the manor, where we saw a big dragon. This one was a Gintstone Dragon Adula, breathing out glintstone crystals that deal a massive amount of damage.
A direct confrontation with the dragon proved to be futile so I changed my strategy and tried to snipe it off slowly with my bow. It also had a range attack but I found a big stone to hide behind when it tried to hit me.
I knew it was going to take a lot of time, so I was patient enough. But sadly, when the dragon's health was almost half, it just disappeared, or perhaps flew somewhere. I tried to find it but couldn't see it anywhere nearby. I wonder what happened to him. There was nothing it was guarding as well, nor did it drop something on the ground. Not the first weird thing that happened to me in this game.
Three Mysterious Towers
I found some locked towers here too. I couldn't access them, maybe they are locked behind more progress. I might need to come back here after getting a special item or defeating someone? No idea... I looked for some clues nearby but couldn't find anything.
Blocked Shut for now!
Going around this Manor, I killed some smaller enemies. And found an interesting-looking item. A Larval Tear to be given to Rennala to grant rebirth. Which tells me that I can reallocate my attributes; this is going to help a lot. It will help me fix some mistakes like not levelling up my intelligence, faith or arcane.
A tough beast
I had to fight an orange-furred wolf, who seemed to be as tough as the dragon. So quick and deals a lot of damage. I tried a few times to take him on, but soon realised it is not for my mental health, especially when I feel very unprepared.
Onyx Lord
There are these evergoals arenas in the game where you fight a boss, some of them had been difficult in the past, and I had already skipped a couple of them. But this one next to the Carian Manor had a boss called Onyx Lord, this one seemed to be easy. He was slow, and his ranged magic attacks were easy to dodge by side rolls.
He had this attack where he would throw meteors at you, but thankfully, they were slow enough for me to dodge easily. He even dropped this Meteorite sorcery after he died. Good to find some easy and slow bosses in the game. Gives you some more motivation to keep going.
I went back to the manor to see if I had missed anything which would make me unlock those towers I found earlier. I did miss something there, but nothing important enough. The most interesting thing would be a deadly machine thingy which wanted to chop me into many pieces.
Found a new weapon, Urumi. It was a whip sword combo, very peculiar and unique.
It was time to get back to the Lakes and explore more to the east of the manor. I got a cool shot from one of the guys who shoots a lot of arrows quickly. This was hanging on a balloon lol.
Some time later, I fought off some crabs, they were not as tough as I remembered from my earlier encounters. I have been leveling up my strength and endurance for some time and now it feels things are getting better. Enemies like this giant crab used to give me a lot of pain but now they are easy to defeat.
There are still a lot of mysteries to be solved in this huge world of Elden Ring. As I progress more and explore more parts of the map, I seem to collect more unanswered questions and mysteriously locked doors and areas. But it has been an enjoyable experience and I feel like I am getting stronger with each death. I wished the game had an inbuilt death counter so I could count the number of times I died till now... has to be in hundreds already.
