Come With Me - Free Co-Op puzzle platformer on Steam

There are a lot of small indie games on Steam and this one was discovered by @bemier. It is a two-player co-op puzzle platformer with cute characters. You have to work together and solve puzzles using your abilities. We played a few co-op games already and I realised I never talked about them. So, let me talk about this cute little adventure.

There are two characters, one is a tall and strong, cuboidal body guy with long legs, that allows it to cross rivers and reach more locations. His name is Com.

The other one is a small round ball shape which can enter into small gaps and take advantage of its small size. This yellow guy can hop on top of the tall purple guy and cross rivers, jump on higher ledges, activate switches and much more. This one's name is Mi.

The game was developed by Xin Ye and was released in May, 2021. This game is free to play on Steam. It is a very short one and the story can be completed in around an hour. The puzzles are not tough but they are very innovative.

There are a few short chapters and each has a collectible puzzle fragment that unlocks a memory. These memory elements can be later to understand the story.

These puzzle pieces are optional and you can complete this short game without it. We had some trouble finding the last piece in the cave. This is a cute little game but it has some issues as well. The camera movements suck and are too rigid, especially in tight spaces. Although I blamed @bemier a lot for going in circles in the cave but I realised later that the camera is too stiff and makes it too tough. Sorry not sorry, @bemier :)

We encountered a bug in the last level where we had to restart the level again. Apart from these small issues, the game is not bad, especially for being a free game. We had no issues with connections.

The puzzles are simple but the game doesn't teach you anything. You have to find out on your own. Some levels have keys and locked doors, switches, levers, moving and rotating platforms, vanishing platforms etc. The usual platformer elements you find in other 3d platformers.

Here is what the game tells you about the story.

When the village plunges into darkness, Com and Mi go on an adventure to bring back the light. Com is strong and bulky whereas Mi is small and agile. You can only complete your adventure by working closely together. Can they get past their differences to work through all the obstacles and save the village?

The ending is a bit emotional as the yellow guy sacrifices himself to light up the darkened town. The memory fragments tell the story well. I wish the game had more content.

I wish they made a full game with the same characters and settings and worked on some of the flaws and bugs. We had a nice time playing it.
