Adventures in the Siberian Wilderness | theHunter: Call of the Wild
Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I installed a Mod in theHunter: Call of the Wild that increases the render distance of animals to almost 750 meters from the base, ~400 meters. I don't know why this is not already in the game because there are maps with plains where you can see an animal from a large distance. Many maps will benefit from this, such as the Savannah map or the snowy, sometimes barren Medved-Taiga map. Today, I decided to test it on the latter.
It was working well. I can see animals far away. There is a frozen river, which is perfect for some long-range shots. There was a group of grey wolves just chilling on the frozen river.
The caribou were just a bit ahead of them. Caribou was my first shot in this session. A perfect lung shot made him die quickly.
The issue with this is that the range of weapons is still the same, so those long shots will be insanely hard to pull off. I wanted to make the wolves mad at me; sometimes they all try to attack you. I got closer to them with my shotgun. But right after the first shot, they all flee from the area.
They try to hunt you and can ambush you when you are not aware. I have died to their surprise attacks in the past, but this time they all ran away except the first one, who got shot and died.
The forested area is looking fine, too. Everything is covered with snow, even the tree branches are all white, and it seems like a paradise.
There are many frozen lakes in this map as well. They are animal hotspots. Moose and Caribou came here frequently to drink. The lightning here was looking amazing, too. The sun was just going up, and hunting without HUD is such a good experience here. You are focused on hearing a lot more. Every sound is a potential animal lurking or an attack on you.
I hunted down a relatively small male Moose around the lake. He was going away, and I had to stalk him for a good angle before shooting. I thought the Light Brown fur type was rare, but nope, it was just an uncommon fur type. Only Albino, Melanistic and Piebald are here for them.
I found a large crater, which is called Podzemnyy Mir, that is the Underworld in Russian. It makes sense because this place was a huge crater with large walls. It is like the ground has just sunk here. The sunrise was looking good from here. But there were no big trees inside that crater.
I saw a small female Moose crossing going out from it. It got spooked by my footstep noise and ran away before I could take a shot. Shooting a running animal is very tough, so I didn't even attempt it. I was looking to get some shots of that bright sun.
I came out of that place and wandered around, and saw a large bear in the middle of a beautiful forest. It was a dense forest, and it was hard to keep track of it. It quickly vanished behind the trees.
Later, I compensated for this loss with a smaller female. This one could not escape my bullet. It weighed 250 Kg and had a Red Brown fur coat. These are uncommon in Brown Bears. I am still looking for my first diamond Brown Bear. This was just a silver.
I ended this session with the best shot of today. The sun was peeking through the trees in this forest. I loved this shot. Another successful day in this beautiful Siberian wilderness.

I've always loved appreciating your screenshots of this video game, since its graphics are too impressive, despite having dedicated so much time to the game, from time to time you relax playing it to get out of the routine, and that's great.
