7 Years, 2000+ Hours later, I still suck at Rocket League

Hello, gamers. I hope you are doing well.
Rocket League has completed 10 years, and to commemorate this, we have a big season with some pretty cool rewards. I have been playing this game on and off since 2018. In these almost 7 years, I have clocked more than 2,000 hours. I don't think I have played any other game for that long. I have played Clash of Clans almost religiously for many years, but I don't think I have played it this much.
The skill ceiling in this game is so high that I'm not even in the top 20% of players. But I play it mostly to have fun and don't care about ranking too much. I have been on Diamond 2 to Diamond 3 for a couple of years now. This game has given me a lot of good memories. I have played it with friends and solo for a long time.
I play it almost every day. Starting a ranked match takes about a minute, and the game goes on for about 5-6 minutes, so whenever I have 10 minutes to spare, I boot up this game and play a match. Depending on how that game goes, I might play a few more.
I finished Champ 1 last season, which was a good feeling. I felt like I was stuck in Diamond for a long time. But this season I'm back at Diamond III, as always, lol.
I played a long session of Rocket League today as well. It didn't go so well, and I lost more than I won, but it was fun.
Just like every session, I had to score an own goal... right? But this time, the difference was that it was a zero-second goal, and we went on to lose that match in overtime. Ouch! That proved very costly.
My keyboard is playing games with me too. I play this game on my keyboard (just the keyboard, not the mouse). Almost all players who learn to play this game with a keyboard use a mouse too, because that's how its controls are set by default. Of course, the best way is to use a controller. But when I started playing it, I didn't have a controller, so I learned to play with keyboard and mouse, and later I switched from mouse to just the keyboard with a very weird control setup. I can assure you that I have the weirdest button setup in this game.
That's how I learned, and when I realized this might not be a good way and that more advanced mechanics like aerial play would be bad with it, it was too late. I stuck with that setup, and now I can use it and have reached Champ, so it wasn't that bad. (Or maybe I just spent too much time on the game, lol). So, when your keyboard starts misbehaving in a game like this, where every input matters, that's a big problem. I might have to buy a new keyboard soon.

No matter how badly I play on a given day, somehow the game teams me up with the most impatient teammate who will lose their shit on my first mistake. I wonder if kids have reached this rank easily and the lobbies are flooded with these Gen Alpha babies who have no patience or manners.
Rocket Pass!
This season's Rocket Pass has some exciting rewards. I have bought the Rocket Pass with credits earned in the previous season. That gives me access to all the exclusive rewards for this 10th-anniversary season. They have some cool goal explosions that I want to get as quickly as I can.
My favorite item in this season is the Hellfire Ultra Goal Explosion.
That explosion goes well with the Hellfire Roasted Luxury Wheels. I am on Tier 43, and those two items are on Tier 60 and Tier 61. There is still plenty of time left for this season to end, so I should be getting both of them easily.
Time to show my overall stats. I have played exactly 11,240 games with a win percentage of 53.4%. In these 11K+ matches, I got exactly 6,003 wins and almost half of those as MVP, which makes sense as I play a lot more 2v2. The MVP ratio would have been worse if I had played more Standard (3v3) matches. Averaging 1.7 goals per game is not bad at all. It is tough to maintain as we go higher up the rank. I have 4 high-fives. This is a rare thing where you give your teammate who scored a goal a congratulatory bump while both of you are in the air. Because of how the goal explosion throws you away from the goal, it is not easy to get those, unless you are specifically going for them.

Pro Gamer Tips:
- You played well, but your teammate sucks!

- Only if you had a better monitor and graphics card!
- Your little brother was playing the match!
- They were Smurfing!
- You didn't sleep for two days straight!
- And the most important one: They were hacking!
- Your mom called you in the middle of the game!

I returned to Rocket League a week ago. I didn't play about 6 years ago, where I was actually pretty good on Playstation, I became Champion and held that rank for a while. Now I've started playing it again but with friends, so to make it a bit more even, I started playing with keyboard and mouse. I managed to stay at Diamond 1, where I have an acceptable performance.
One of the things that has disappointed me the most since I started playing again is that they removed the possibility of exchanging. I remember that I always got all the credits that way and with that I used to buy comestibles in the store.
I believe that Diamond II, the rank you are in now, is still far superior. I think the most common is Platinum.
HAHAHAHA this happens to me a lot, lol
hahahaha no more.... he left me
Great game and you are very old, you should be the King

You don't suck bro. You forget your own Pro Gamer Tips 😂
I play a lot this game with my brother on split screen mode because I can't play online, but I'm really bad too, and I've spent a lot of time playing it, but I don't get better. I've lived angry times with this game but I love to play it because I spent time with my brother, that makes special rocket league for me. Thanks for sharing with us. Greetings
I have not played much but watching looks like the learning curve is really high.
Yeah, moving and controlling the car in 3d space is a bit tough to master.
