This is from another sample I picked up from the same area…

Feel free to question anything I post…

another sa;mple from the same area keeps the baseline tight, which I like, but my accountant brain is thinking about selection bias and clean records :) I dont know your exact process, it reads like you focus on patterns not one offs. do you note the exact spot and time for each piece, or just tag it as the same area?

I picked up the samples about 30 years ago and never went back…. They were very heavy, but I had no idea they were loaded with precious metals… The ones I crushed and panned, never showed anything worth getting excited about…. It’s probably why it went unnoticed… Zooming in on this picture lead me to my recent discovery…

crazy how a closer look after years can flip the script :) That fits the story.. early pan tests often miss coarse or locked values, and heavy grab samples can bias the feel. If you ever re;visit, a simple note of spot and time plus a tiny split for later can keep the trail clean. do you still have any rough notes or a landmark in mind from back then?

I plan on returning once the weather cools down… I remember the area well, because I almost died of thirst out there about 30 years ago in early June… This time, I’ll be better prepared as I’m looking for the source, posting Location Notices and following up with Maps and Filing the Mining Claims with the County Recorder and the Department of the Interior…

totally respect that plan, and that June memory is no joke. stash water caches, mark waypoints, keep a tiny split plus a quick log with date, coords, weight, and kit used, so the so'ource link stays clean :). also double-check current Recorder and DOI forms, fees, and timelines before the trip', ok?

I’ve been watching it climb up the metal plate… It almost seems alive…
