Kia PV5 Van | The Best Electric Commercial Yet?

"It's a Van, Jim - but not as we know it"

Introducing the latest from Kia - the all electric PV5 Van...

Now yes, it's not what you've come to expect from the Korean car manufacturer, but they aren't worried about ruffling feathers, as they are now firmly poised to take their place in the commercial vehicle sector - one that has been dominated by the Legend Brands of Ford, Mercedes Benz and VW for many years now - and their debut van? The PV5.

Although it comes under the small van category, it's not at all conservative in looks, or traditional in design either, as it's fully electric.

To start with, Kia are launching the PV5 with a front wheel drive, L2/H1 version - an H2 is due here next year - and the standard range offers up to 181 miles of range and a payload of up to 790kg's, with the long range offering up to 247 miles of range and a payload of up to 690kg's. Combined with a 4.4 cubic meter load volume, and you've got a serious contender on your hands.

It's got all the tech and safety you'd expect to see in one of Kia's passenger vehicles, and charging times aren't bad at all, with a 10% to 80% charge time of under 30 minutes if you can find a rapid charger that can go at the higher speeds of up to 150kW's.

With a starting price of under £28,000 plus VAT, AND it's eligible for the Plug-In Van Grant, you can knock £5,000 of that price.

Kia has just declared war on the commercial vehicle giants of old.

So what are your thoughts? As you join us for a first look, bear in mind that we will get one on review as soon as we possibly can and take it on a road trip (what a surprise, lol!)

Thank you all, and enjoy!
Annabelle 😊

I'm seeing more electric vans around, so they must make economic sense to the companies. It's all about practicality.
