A Beautiful Circle Dress

Good day everyone. I hope you are all doing fabulous. It's a beautiful day to share something from my sewing journey.
Not long ago, I made a circle dress for a customer and am excited to walk you through the process.

A family friend had come visiting, and I was wearing a stoned A-line dress that I had made. She couldn't stop complimenting how beautiful it looked and mentioned she'd love to have one made for herself. A few days later, she brought the fabric she wanted to use. I was initially sceptical about whether the material would suit the style, but I decided to go ahead with it.

Here's how I made the dress:

I began by folding the fabric into two and then folded the closed edge again diagonally to form a triangle. I marked out the shoulder, neckline width, depth and armhole, I then cut them out carefully.

After measuring the full length of the gown, I realised a part was slightly short. To fix this, I cut out additional pieces and joined them to complete the required length.

Next, I cut out the neck facing for the front and back pieces and then took it to the machine to sew. After attaching the facing and giving a full press with the iron. I joined the shoulders of the front and back pieces together.

Then, I sewed the sleeve to the armhole and shaped the gown according to my client measurement. I hemmed the bottom of the dress to give it a neat finish.

Thank you for visiting my blog
