Hello everyone and good day to y'all 😁 I haven't posted any photography post in the past two weeks coz I have been quite busy lately. Also I'm thinking of probably doing weekly photography post instead of everyday or every other day coz I wanna level up my "Pitik Photography" game. Since the lens that I own isn't really made for random street headshots I thought I might as well do some regular street photography for now. I am not too sure if I did well on these photos but for me it feels way different and something new since this isn't really my style but I kinda like it.

All of these photos were taken in the 7 days and I have been trying to do some low light photography as well during my early morning walks and below are some of the sample photos that I've got.

These weren't really stunning per se but for me who haven't really tried any low light photography in the past thanks to my bridge camera which is takes very unusuable photos in low light. I am quite amazed by how my Nikon D5300 takes low light photos. Although there is a huge caveat to this coz while I am now able to take low light photos my cameras auto focusing system sucks at low light. I know it may sound really newbiesh to be complaining and blaming my camera but hear me out first. I really tried my best to do some low light shots but it was really so hard to focus. Especially in extreme low light shots just like in the first 3 shots above, honestly those are just lucky shots 😅. I wont tell you guys that it took me more than 5 minutes to get each of those photo coz that's how terrible the auto focusing was. I know some of you might already be screaming "WHY DON'T YOU USE MANUAL FOCUS INSTEAD?" I really doubt any newbie would be able to think of that easily 😅 But don't worry I tried manual focus for sure coz the 2nd shot above was manually focused coz I don't know what's my cameras problem but it really won't focus on the 2nd photo above even though the scene was high contrast 😅 The problem I have with manual focus is that my camera doesn't have focus peaking which means I have to do it the old fashioned trial and error way 😂 and as I newbie I got it right at my first try which is means I'm a genius... Well not really 😂 I'm just kidding lol it took me what 20 tries I guess before I nailed the right focus 🤣 it was such a frustrating experience that I don't want to experience ever again 😅

As far as my short experience with this camera... The autofocus doesn't work in extreme low light and backlit situations 😅 Some silhouette situations are fine but some it doesn't and I need to focus manually to take a picture 😅 The more I shoot the more I learn the limitations of this camera and honestly it frustrates me quite a lot. I'm sure a lot of the PRO's here would be thinking "That's how you become a good photographer coz it will force you to think of ways on how to take good photos". I mean sure I do agree with that but it is still quite frustrating honestly. Sorry for the little rant guys it really is just frustrating to lose some really good shots coz my camera won't focus 😅 This happened quite a lot to me even in well lit situations where the camera would just focus breathe for some unknown reason even though the subject is well lit 😂

The last 3 photos above were not low light photos but I edited it to look that way. I really love high contrast photos coz it looks quite film like and it doesn't look fake coz most photos nowadays are all lit up to the point that shadows look like it doesn't exist 😅 I don't know but I just love such scenes. I feel like there's some kind of magic feeling when I see one and it really calms me. Even the most chaotic picture if it's a high contrast one such as the one above I feel would still make me feel calm.

Anyways guys this is all for me today. I'm not too sure about putting a schedule on this weekly "Pitik Photography" shots but I'll try to do it on weekends if possible. I know I'm a little too close to a weekend already so maybe I'll skip this weekends post and do the next one next next weekend. This would be great for me coz I'll have more time thinking about which shots to take and hopefully it would turn out great. See you guys next next weekend. Cheers!
