Tatra Mountains 2025 #3 - Trail to Polana Rusinowa

Another day, another gallery - second day of our trip to Tatra mountains.

Weather got better and our mood also so we drove to Palenica Białczańska - valley and river on the border with Slovakia where a big parking place is located.

This spot is a perfect starting point to get to the Morskie Oko lake and many other most famous locations in the mountains. There are multiple parking places on the way - they are all paid and quite expensive and during the high season - it is hard to find any free spot there.

We can get there by bus as well of course :). But I can imagine the crowds and big traffic on the mountain road to get as close as possible to the entrance to the National Park.

That day the road to Morskie Oko was close due to maintance of the road there so there wasn't so many people and cars as usual. Lucky for us.

We took the blue trail going up to Rusinowa Polana - big open meadow higher in the mountains from which we should get a great panoramic view on Tatra mountains.

Some parts of the trail leads next to a beautiful mountain creek Waksmundzki Potok - crystal clear small river flowing among big, white boulders covered with red lichens - it looked amazing!

I spent some time there trying to find some compositions and capture the beauty of this place...

Next part of the trail was very steep but the stairs are a great help to reach the first open spot.

Here is the first look at the mountain panorama - and a first stop to rest a while and catch a breath...

10 minutes later we reached the destination - not a final destination for me but the place where my family decided to spent some more time and do a small picnic with this amazing view...

Polana Rusinowa is very beautiful, covered with fresh, green grass, with the amazing views around.
We can find a small picnic area there as well as couple of wooden cabins. There is also a place where we can find restrooms and small shop.
A perfect location for everyone - families with small children, older people etc., to this location we can get taking few different trails and some of them are much more flat and easy to walk.

I took a few images from this location and decided to take another trail leading up the mountain to Gęsia Szyja summit - but this will be the story and a gallery for another post.
