Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 170
Hey there my Hive friends and followers!
Welcome to the 170th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round. If you want to create a separate post as your entry, you can do that but please always remember to submit your entry in the form of a comment here in this post as well. I only check the entries submitted here as comments.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. I also give some smaller upvotes on the other entries too so that all participants get rewarded for their engagement.
I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
Finally, all the trees, plants, shrubs and other vegetation are covered with lush greenery here again and walking in parks, meadows and forests is a real pleasure. A couple of days ago, I visited the Prokop Valley, one of my favorite natural places here in Prague, Czech Republic and I clicked this simple but beautiful (at least for me) landscape photo in there. It was a lovely May day with a lot of sunshine and a very enjoyable temperature of some 20 C (70 F). I just love this kind of weather and I should enjoy it while it lasts. Soon, probably in just a few weeks, it will start to be uncomfortably hot and dry here in Central Europe.
In the last round, we had 12 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:
@stresskiller with this entry from the Netherlands:
Alright you asked for my contribution, not everyone will see it as a beauty of nature. Black ant farming Aphids in my garden. Sony A7II + Laowa 25mm Ulltra - macro lens shot this morning in the Netherlands.
@nenio with this entry from Chile:
Here is my entry. Currently we are in the middle of the autumn (in the Southern Hemisphere), usually the temperatures are quite mild in Antofagasta, Chile because it is located near the tropic of Capricorn. However this fall has had quite high temperatures. In the photo taken some days ago at the beach after the sunset, you can see people are enjoying themselves near the sea. I know that cargo ships are not ecological friendly, but they are part of the seascape here.
@stayoutoftherz with this entry from Austria:
These Aquilegia vulgaris are blossoming in my garden currently. The best part is, they were not planted, they grow wildly there. And I am always happy when I see them! The photo was taken in Austria and it´s max 3 days old.
Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)
I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.
Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!
I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)

I have another one from last Sunday, 25km east of Vienna, near the old Roman city of Carnuntum. In the back you can see the round of the amphitheatre with the remains of the stone foundations, app. 1800 years old! Today totally deserted, nature took over.
In the front you can see Verbascum species growing almost out of the ancient stones.
Thanks for another cool entry from Austria! I love places that Mother Nature reclaimed, always rooting for her :)
Indeed, you chose the best ones
The ones you shared here are very beautiful
Glad that you like the winning collection :) Cheers!

Cool. I hope you will share some of that beauty with us here in this challenge one day :)
Macro photos are so nice. I tried it on my smartphone, and quality is quite impressive !
Happy to hear that! Will you share the pictures with us here in this challenge?
These were photos of silver that I posted here on ecency. I haven't taken any recently !
Very nice photos. That one of the ants gives me the creeps, but it is quite intriguing all at the same time.
Well said! Some insect macros can be creepy and fascinating at the same time :) Have an amazing weekend!
Thanks, you too!

@phortun thanks for choosing my photo.
Congratulations to: @stayoutoftherz and @stresskiller
My pleasure! That was an amazing picture :)
This is a devil weed photo taken yesterday with my phone as I was walking along the beautiful scenery in our place. The wildflower grows throughout the whole year round and at the back is the sugarcane plantation.
This is my participation to this challenged.
Thank you very much for this nice entry :) Greetings from Czechia!
Thank you😊
As I headed back home last Friday afternoon this beautiful scenery captured my two eyes. How lovely it was. We went home earlier because of the coming super typhoon "Mawar" which is called "Betty" in the Philippines. May this loving nature prevail it's beauty whatever disaster will come our way. It's still raining up to now but in God's time, everything will be okay. There's always a rainbow after the rain.
Thank you very much for this beautiful entry from the Philippines! I hope the typhoon will not cause any damage to you guys.
Don't mention it, it's my pleasure, sir. Thank God everything is okay here. The rain stops already and it's not so windy at all. God bless.
This 10-centimeter guy is sitting on the mosquito netting of my beach-office right now. Kožino Village in Zadar county, Croatia.
Hmm, pěkný kousek, díky, že sis vzpomněl :)
Díky za upvote ;)
Here is my entry for this weeks round: A field of wild flowers:
Greetings from the Netherlands!
Good to see you here again, thanks for this lovely flower greeting :)
Hi @phortun
Last weekend my wife and I changed the day of our weekly outing to the Ibizan countryside to Saturday. It's unusual, but the weather forecast predicted rain for Sunday. This time we headed to the west of the island, to a small and inaccessible tiny beach that can only be reached after more than one hour's walk. This small beach is called Cala Llentrisca and part of the beach is occupied by small wooden huts where the local fishermen keep their fishing boats. The place is only frequented by these fishermen and some sporadic outings like ours.
Unless stated otherwise, all the pictures and words are mine.
