My breakfast is coffee, in a sense, lol. I make a protein shake for breakfast every day. These days the recipe is: plain yogurt + milk + coffee + sugar + whey protein + ice. I don't often have whipped cream, but if I do, I will add some (as in the photo). My cat Yuan loves it when I have whipped cream, but he also likes the milk, and will ask me for some every time I make one (yes he is a cat that can digest milk; I know not all can). The photo is an older photo when I used to add chocolate to it, but I almost never do that these days because my allergies have gotten worse to where I get eczema all over from eating chocolate. 😭
I find it difficult to eat solid food first thing in the morning, plus I've been doing this so many years it's easy to half asleep make a shake. Even still, occasionally I'm half asleep enough I forget something, lol. For instance, forgetting the sugar results in the consistency being different when it comes out of the blender, to where I usually recognize it now before I take a sip of unsweetened bitterness. I am not a black coffee person, LOL!

@phoenixwren That coffee protein shake is so rich! I see why you're able to substitute it for a solid meal. It's good that you figured out something that works for you, as I do need to have a good breakfast in the morning:)))

PS. All my cats love milk too!

I understand the thing about taking solid food in the morning...it must be similar to what I feel if I eat any food early...breakfast for me is mid-morning...I usually have a black coffee first and then another one to accompany it with breakfast, @phoenixwren

That protein shake looks really appetizing, I eat everything in the morning, of course after a good coffee. Although for health, I should copy your habit

I don't know that it's healthier, but I didn't have much appetite first thing so it works for me!

The smoothie you present to us looks very delicious, without a doubt I would have a glass without hesitation.

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

I used to make protein shakes with instant coffee when I was in the university… they were good! 😁 Now I consume coffee only in plain form!

Wow how many yummy things all together 😂 That looks like a very complete smoothie! For me without a strong black coffee it didn't work for the day ☕.

Ok, first things first! It's so sad you can eat chocolate at your pleasure 😞 Have you tried plain cocoa? When I eat chocolate candy, my nose begins to itch, but I have no problems with the cocoa powder I use regularly, which has no other ingredients added.

Girl, I need to sink my teeth into something when I'm hungry. It's the savage cave woman in me that dies hard 😂 I'm not evolved enough as to have protein shakes to replace any meal, although that one looks good.

Awww hi Flecha! 🥰
No it's cocoa itself. I have a nickel allergy that has gotten worse with time, to where I have to eat a low nickel diet. Chocolate and coffee land in the "maybe" category on nickel lists, and for a long time I could tolerate both, but I've lost chocolate, it causes eczema breakouts all over now. 😭

The kind of allergy that shouln't exist. I'd wish I could help you. I've heard carob tastes like cocoa; I'm not sure about the nickel in it.

I've looked for it at the health food store a few times but apparently they are having supply issues lately. I'll try it eventually!
