When in Prague... .:. Phβs meetups π«π»
Now, when I look back, I have visited two most important beer cities in whole Europe, Munich, and yesterday, Prague! Also, I was living 17 years on the opposite side of the street where the biggest brewery in my country was situated! Maybe because of exactly that, I didn't like beer, and I never drank the whole glass (bottle)! I had a recent attempt 2 years ago, at my friend's house, when he offered me a "special beer", which I was sipping during a couple of hours... In the end, he couldn't watch me anymore and took the glass from me, and brought me a glass of wine... π

So, knowing all that, when I was talking with @godfish on the beer topic (Can he talk about something else at all? π) in Graz BuzzParty this year, he gave me hope that I could one day drink the whole glass of beer! By his words, no person dislikes beer; there are only people who haven't found the right taste! From that day, we had a mission... He was on a quest to find the "right beer" for me, and I was building up my confidence that I could do it! I can drink a glass of beer!

The first attempt was to drink the Dark Bohemian Lager... Well, that didn't go well... lol... I have tried dark beer in the past, and I didn't like it... Truth to be told, this one was much better, but I wouldn't describe it as a "beer that tastes like no-beer"... It was a proper beer! Btw. my tip for @godfish was that I don't like the bitter taste of beer and that was the reason why I was sceptical about beers in the first place! How could I like some beer if I don't like the taste of beer?

Well, I was wrong! My main mistake was that I had tried only those "industrial", corporate beers, and not crafted beer at all! I didn't know that there are many different tastes of beer and not just one, the most familiar to everyone!
As the first attempt didn't pass, I was offered other alternatives that were on the table... The idea was to try every beer if it's needed until I found one that I like... In the meantime, @godfish sacrificed himself to drink all those that I dislike... Poor guy... You can see on his face, in the photo above, how he was struggling with every beer... π

In the end, it looks like I have found one beer that I like (for now π)! The one that @honeydue is holding is the one! The Plum and Cinnamon Sour beer! I didn't even know that combination like that exists! But the taste was perfect! Completely different than the dark beer, as it was made from different ingredients, with a different brewing method! (Of course, our host explained to us the process from A to Z!)
All in all, we had an awesome meetup last evening/night... From the full bar, until being almost the last ones to leave! So much fun, so many great stories told, and a promise of meeting again, in Alicante, Spain, next year... The latest... Until then, who knows... We could meet again earlier... easily... The world is small, and there are plenty of breweries around the world... Now that I know that the beer I like exists, I can continue the search for the second one... π
Cheers!!! π»π»π»π»
Thank you for your time.

Not every beer is the same as Jelen beer π
Cheers! π» Every true craft master has some sour fruit beer in stock.
considering i have a similar curse of living in a Slovak town and not being a beer drinker there was one long time ago that i remember liking. And there is a chance you actually had an opportunity to try it as it was made by ZIP (Zrenjaninska industrija piva :) )
It was the Porter zrenjaninsko tamno pivo. And probably the reason i liked it was it had a sweet taste. And at the time more then 2 could mean a bit of a problem. Or maybe it was the Zrenjanin water :D
I couldn't even find a photo of the bottle :D
and it is obvious @godfish is suffering :D
you can add this to the Hive meetups count :D
Oh, a #beersaturday post? Another soul converted!! :))
Almost got me to the dark side (beer), but instead, I went towards the light.... ππ»
:)
It sounds like a fun night. It's kind of funny how many types of each beer there is. I think craft beer also taste better than the corporate stuff usually.
Craft beer tastes much better than a corporate... I'm not an expert, but they can't be compared!
I don't like beer π but honestly in Czech Republic I would talk about girls rather than beer π they are gorgeous there
I don't like beer either, or I thought I don't like it... π
And regarding girls, I completely agree with you! π
That face says it all LOL. Don't know much about beer but the experience of finding one that you can finish looks like an interesting adventure quest, learnt a lot about beers in the process, too.
Poor guy... He "suffered" so much that evening... π
You've found the perfect beer for you! That's great!
You're right, I think what I don't like is the bitter taste. I prefer sweet flavours, and I think that's why I don't like beer either. It also makes me sleepy. That's why I don't drink alcohol, haha.
Beer... plum, maybe, depending on the plum, because some are sour. I had no idea that existed!
PS: He looks like he drank all the beer... poor thing!
The one that I liked would probably fit you too! I dislike bitter things too, and this one wasn't at all like some standard beers... :)
Hahahaha... He didn't complain... but rather asked for another one! π» π
Madre mΓa!! Another one!
I'd better order a peach juice, ha ha ha.
Prague is an amazing city!
I wish I could go back there someday.
It is a great city! This was my first time there, and I'm already thinking about going back again... lol...
When you find a great guide, you can turn even hell into paradise :-D
Exactly! We had the best possible guide, and I'm thankful for that!
It's a pity that you didn't make it... It was a great mini-meetup... Just like we all like it... π»
I had no idea about the meeting. Moreover, such events are unavailable to me during the week. Maybe next time.
Beer is for Munich, Prague for the girls :-) - interesting they offer Meisels there - brrrr.
Hahahaha... So, there are no girls in Munich? π
Tbh, I have to agree about girls in Prague... π
