RE: Flexible "Waters"

You touched a few important topics there, and I would like to reflect on some... It's funny, but I mentioned "selective hearing" to my wife yesterday, explaining how my parents have hearing issues... But only when they don't hear what isn't interesting to them... 😃 The same goes here, with "new values", where tribalism is very much spread... It was always (trying to be part of something), but somehow it looks like it's even more nowadays... It's more "excluding"... If you aren't with us, you are against us... Instead of being more tolerant, we are more prejudiced and biased...

And secondly, regarding privacy... I was all about it, trying to hide myself in the woods, but it didn't work out... It looks like "hiding" in the crowd is more effective... Nowadays, everyone shares everything, and we can easily get lost in the jungle and become "invisible"... Sounds weird, but it was never easier to be invisible than today... 😃

Haha, interesting trick your parents play with you, in terms choosing only to hear what's interesting to them. My mum does the same to me whenever we discuss on how life has changed then and now. I think selective hearing is one of the main ways people try to avoid the nuance aspects of life and will rather just draw arbitrary line, stick to them strongly as if they're very real to the point of alienating anybody who doesn't want to join their crew, so to speak.

Great point on hiding in the crowd being more effective. In some ways, totally being ourselves out there sharing almost everything is somehow the best way to enjoy the journey and also have people learn from our experiences. I still sometimes get a bit paranoid about privacy though :)

Many thanks for stopping by and picking this post for Ourpick Reading suggestion project, I appreciate it :)

I was in a similar place... And it can be very stressful, too... There is a moment in life when we say....
