That is indeed an interesting question, to ban or not... Personally, I do think that "showing by example" works the best in many ways... You can say thousands of words, but if you are doing the opposite, your words will be left in the air...
While educating your children is the best by showing by example, in certain age, they don't take you, as a parent, as their role model... I suppose in those moments, we do have to have additional conversations about the topic... Smartphones are great, but they can create an addiction, which can be harmful, especially in the long term... Giving smartphones to children too early can cause significant harm and destroy social skills that should be developed in those early days...

Very well mentioned that at certain moments in life, a child (or teenager) seeks external references, and then it becomes our duty to have more conversations and begin to guide our education toward a more dynamic approach. Of course, this does not mean that we need to give up other methods, they still remain valid, but perhaps with less intensity.
