Jacaranda Tree and the Flower That You Can't Take a Photo
When you travel or move countries, one of the best, positive things is that you learn (and see) new things, customers, plants, and animals... When I moved to Spain, one of the most interesting trees that I saw there was Jacaranda mimosifolia... I never saw a tree like that before and beautiful purple flowers caught my attention...
Along with my never-created post about the carob tree, this was my second one where I was collecting photos, but never published the post! Well, finally, we are here! I hope that the next one will be about the carob tree as I'm collecting photos for over a year!
Back to Jacaranda... I got inspired to do this post by @coquicoin, who shared one of her #WednesdayWalk where I recognized the same tree! As I didn't know where the tree came from, I researched a bit about it and found that it's originally from South America, and because of its great look and "long-lasting" flowers, it is spread all around the world...
Regarding the place where I live, I have noticed a couple of things about it... These trees are very rarely planted in a row, I mean, more of them in one place... Most of the time, you can find Jacaranda in the middle of palm trees, or some "bushy" plants... As it stands out in all the greenery, you can spot the tree easily... Like in this photo where you can see the tree at the edge of the golf terrain...
Sometimes, it looks like the tree grown from the seed in some random place... Like this one, which grew too close to the fence of this house...
Another curiosity about this tree is that I had a hard time taking a closeup photo of its' flower! I can't explain how and why, but I suppose that it happens as flowers don't have sharp edges and my mobile phone can't focus the image properly... Also, I suppose that it has something with a specific purple color... Maybe that color doesn't exist in the phone's color palette... 😂
This was the only place where I saw more than 2-3 trees in the same place...
This one is visible from my building apartment and it is one of the two trees that I see when I go out from my home! What a view!
When flowers start to fall from a tree, you get this fantastic purple carpet... And the smell is amazing! It's not a surprise that the tree is popular in other parts of the world and not just in South America!
Thank you for your valuable time,
~ph~

Great catch with the trees. I notice you also have some tall walls there too. 🤔
Thanks! Yeah, people like to have their privacy... 😃
Love those trees. They make my day, such a beautiful colour.
Although… never park a car under them. The flower that falls sticks. Hard time to clean the car.
No idea why you can’t take photos from the flower. That’s interesting. I made photos of the trees. But never focused on the flower.
Have a good night 👋🏻😁
I notice that when I was walking over those flowers from the last photo... 😃
Try it next time! Maybe I'm cursed? 😂
Yep… very sticky. It can ruin the paint on a car. I have seen it. (Not on mine though… had my classic mini in Spain and looked out where I parked her 😎)
I will next time when I see one. Not sure they exist in Ireland 😊 maybe on holidays… later in the year.
I let you know 🤓
Aha this tree is really beautiful thanks for sharing. ❤️. The place looks beautiful. We don't have this tree here but there is one i will try to share the photos if i will be at that side of my Town someday. My town is not that much big actually I am a lazy person 😛
I remember seeing a Japanese Cherry, or something like that... It has pink flowers, but they don't last as long as Jacaranda flowers...
Hehehe... My town is also small... When I go out for a walk, I walk through 2 towns at once... lol... 😂

this is a weird one, feels like it would look nice as a "tunnel"
It would look great! I think that these trees grew on their own in these places... As I saw them in some completely unexpected places... 😃
I also never see purple tree before but i see in virtual world that many people share pink and purple tree too.
That purple carpet is beautiful 🤩❤️
Can you spot it in @coquicoin's post here https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@coquicoin/a-walk-among-reflections-and-some-birds ? 😃
The only issue with that carpet is that it's sticky 😂
I had already seen that post 😹
Lovely trees aren't they? I remember how nicely they coloured Porto at Portugal with their flowers when I was around. We have some in Athens too.
Oh, I had a short night walk in Porto, so didn't pay attention... If you have it in Athens too, it means that it likes a "warmer" climate...
Yes I think so.

Thanks for sharing my post!
Thanks for sharing this tree with your hive community, I have never seen this in my country. this is the first time I'm seeing a tree with purple flowers.
It looks like Jacaranda like a warmer climate, so maybe that's the reason why you didn't see it at your place... This was my first time, too!
I'll try to find it in my parks near my home, will share it with you if i found it.
When I travel to anoher country, I like to see monuments and old buildings very much especially.
Yeah, that's what my wife likes to do too... I'm more for exploring lakes, forests, fields, and rivers... :)
What about ancient cities? I love them!
You got me there... 🙂 I like to visit old cities and archaeological ruins (open museums)...
Then you just visit my city, it's one of the oldest city in my country.
I first saw these trees in Cadiz earlier this year and fell in love with them. Then I immediately Google to see if I can grow them in UK. The first UK website said many people see them on holiday and want to grow them back at home, but they're not suitable for UK weather 🥴
I have a feeling that if I would go to live in the UK, I wouldn't survive that weather... 😂
So, I understand why Jacaranda doesn't want to grow there... 🤣
There is an area in my city with a whole army of these trees standing tall together. Magnificent site!
Wow! That has to look amazing when all are blooming!
Yeah, it's quite majestic. Great for a photo backdrop!
hi Ph1102 , thank you for sharing your photos and story , at first i thought it would be a wisteria the colors and flowers look the same from a distance . i'v just recherached the tree and it woudn't survive in my garden due to the frost to bad it looks really nice. have a great weekend
Yeah, it looks that it like warm and dry climate as we don't have too much rain either... It's a surprise how some of the plants here even survive!

Thanks for sharing my post!
Welcome
The color of those trees are really inusual and very pretty
As Jacaranda has very thin leafs those flowers on it look even prettier!
You have rightly said that when a person goes to any place or shifts to other countries, the things he gets to learn are useful in his future life. Looking more beautiful Natural things look more beautiful to the human heart.
More experiences, more understanding, more tolerance, and like you said, a more fulfilled human heart...
The more a person learns from life, the easier his future life becomes.
Hola!!! Thank you for the tag.
Gorgeous photos of Jacarandas or as we call them here Apamates. 😍 I love it when they start to bloom around here in May.
I took this picture in the street a few weeks ago. I thought the tree looked so lush.
It's funny what you say about the flowers. I don't remember trying to photograph one, but I will the next time I see an Apamate;). There is a poem by a well-known Venezuelan poet, Andres Eloy Blanco, called La Flor de Apamate. And with that poem, a singer who was also very well known made a tune.
That photo is fantastic! I like the tree and the clouds were perfect!
Beautiful song... a bit sad, but very lovely... 🙂
Thank you!

Ah yes the Jacaranda tree was a thing of beauty I remember from Spain.
In a way it reminded me of bluebells ... Reason being they call it the Blue Jacaranda Tree, so purple or blue or a hybrid and fools your phone camera eye!
Hehehe... I had never seen a before tree like that, so it was a pleasant surprise for my eyes... and a tough job for my phone camera... lol... This year, I didn't even try to take a closeup photo of the flower... I failed so many times in the past, so I took only "big pictures" 😃
Well at time, we are so busy focusing on the little stuff, we actually fail to see the big picture 🤣
So good for you, reminding us to see the big picture!
