Happy New Year! .:. January 1st HivePUD & My HIVE Recap 2024 Card

One of the easiest #HivePUD to miss is January 1st! As the euphoria with celebrations, calling the family, wishing everyone the best, this event knows to go in the background plan and be forgotten... But, it's only one day, so not a big deal! You can always power up some HIVE, on any day!!!

I did yesterday my 2024 recap post, I left a small space for creating and participating in the first #HivePUD of 2025 today!

But before diving into that, I saw that many people were doing the #HiveRecap2024 posts, which I found interesting... As I wanted to do a more specific recap, I did it my way in the already-mentioned post... But, today, I would like to share a couple of HIVE numbers from the last year, just to remind myself about the progress that I made! It's a good way to motivate yourself as sometimes we think that we didn't do too much as we don't zoom out on things!

As you can see, I have powered up over 10K HIVE during the year (most of that on #HivePUDs!) and claimed over 12K HivePower (I suppose all that came from author and curation rewards)... I wrote 207 posts which is less than some of my Hive friends did, but every second day for a post is fine IMO... The VIDEOS numbers aren't right and I don't know how the script found that I did only 1... It was a lot more than one as I did many #HHHLive shows recaps and a few #Walk&Talk series videos... The number of comments could be right, and it's a pity that I didn't know this number before as I would push to 5000... 😃

Regarding communities, I was doing #MyHiveGoals and Workerbee pool posts in the Leofinance community, #HHHLive shows in the Ecency community, and travel posts in WorldMapPin... I did a few rants and regular blogging posts that went to some other communities...

#MyHiveGoal in 2024 was to reach 100K HivePower, and I'm happy to see that number well above! Almost 105K on the first day of 2025!

What's next? As you can see, I had to lower my #HivePUD power-up from 1K to 250 HIVE, as my "reserves" depleted... But, I will try to keep my word and NOT power down during 2025... If the markets go into the wild bull run, that could be the hardest thing ever to do! 😃

As I have powered up over 1 HIVE every day during December, I have collected my #HivePUM badge too!

So, what is #HivePUD?

Just a short introduction to HivePUD... What does it mean at all? #HivePUD is shortened for the Hive Power Up Day. It's an event when Hive members power up their liquid HIVE and stop any active PowerDown! It is organized by great fellow Hivians @streetstyle and @traciyork and is held every 1st day of a month.

I don't like fiat and HBD is closest to it... But, it is a good way to accumulate in the bull market... As we were in the bear during the past year, I picked HIVE to accumulate instead of HBD... Actually, most of my power ups came from buying HIVE with HBD... ;)

btw following your advice i bought hbd with hive via hivedex and not with conversion while there was the hive pump last days, now if i do the back change, i would be +10 hive already

The 2024 RECAP data looks pretty good. It means you spent a lot of time in Hive. You never thought about HBD staking, why?

250 Hive is a good amount for power up. If you don't power down in 2025, you will probably reach 130,000 HP.

Yes, I am thinking about HBD staking, but I didn't do it as HIVE was low... In those cases, I'm buying HIVE... When it goes up, I will take some profits into HBD... 😌

But, in general, I prefer much more HivePower as it gives so many benefits on the platform... Better account growth, more connections, better support for people that I follow, etc.

I also wondered how come you made only one videos when I remembered you did a lot of "walk videos" in 2024, perhaps it has a different metrics for what an uploaded video should be like.
You're right, anyone can actually forget the first HPUD of the year, but that's really not me. Congratulations on surpassing your 100k goal for 2024

I missed the PUM badge the last couple of months, not sure why. Once it happened that I missed one day toward the end of the month - quite frustrating. Other times, after missing a day I stopped powering up every day waiting for next month.

I was doing the power-up every day, first thing in the morning... :) I was thinking of stopping doing it in 2025 and slowing down my HIVE power-up addiction... 😂 But... I didn't make it for these first 2 days... 😃

Yep, I often did that in the morning too. But sometimes something came up (usually when I didn't go straight to my computer after the morning routine) and I had to check later during the day to see if I powered up or not.

Deliberately coming back to an older post of yours, inspired by - https://ecency.com/hive-196233/@ph1102/post-rewards-after-7-days

Considering mechanisms for reward older posts. Presumably we would want a way to continue to curate posts that have passed the 7-day window, that are still being read and generating value for the reader.

It would be an interesting mechanism to have an "Evergreen Voter" that could be invoked with "!EVERGREEN" or a similar mechanism. Presumably it could be stake and delegation based. Like normal delegation awards the reward would be split between the curator and author.

I'm not sure if it is considered bad form, but a burn mechanism could probably be implemented depending if curation rewards were rendered in the evergreen token or in Hive Power.

Whatever form the mechanics took, it would certainly be an interesting mechanism to be able to flow value from the Rewards Pool to older posts.

I was pleased to see these "reward tokens" when they launched... I think that the !BEER token was the first, then PIZZA, WINE, etc... Many of them lacked good tokenomics, and rewarding them was almost like giving away dust... Don't get me wrong... It's nice to get appreciation, and I was using them a lot in the past...
But, when the value of them plummeted, I realized that my written word is a much bigger appreciation than giving away 1 token...

On the other side, maybe that idea isn't bad, if it has legs in good tokenomics and not largely inflated tokens...
