Generation Gap .:. #MyHiveGoals 2023
This is my second draft post that I'm writing today... With the first one, I went in another direction that I didn't plan, so it's not "eligible" for #MyHiveGoals... 😃 Don't worry, I will publish that one in the next week or so... Just a small spoiler, I was writing about Hive-Engine tokens, which made me think about HIVE and maybe comparison between them... Also, another inspiration for this post was the words by @tengolotodo in his post and his comments...
As you have noticed, from the beginning of my journey on HIVE, I'm accumulating my HivePower constantly... I can say that I'm literally powering up HIVE every day! I didn't do that every day before, but I had my ups and downs on the blockchain... I had my FOMO periods, I had my FUD periods... And to be honest, maybe I was more FOMOing than FUDding as if it was vice versa, I would have a lot less HivePower than I do at this moment...

HIVE is a completely different beast than any other token out there... You have BTC maxis, you have ETH maxis, and they discuss their tokens on Twitter (X), Reddit, YT comments... Those discussions can get hot, but after a while, they just burn out and never create a real FIRE... On HIVE, it's different... The whole concept is based on a social media network, and it is in our DNA... We already have a place to discuss here, in our home... We are like a big family that discusses issues in their own house... Sometimes, we act like a dysfunctional family, as everyone has a different opinion...
Under the same roof, we have different generations, which reminds me of one specific English lesson from school, it was called "Generation Gap"... "Older members" (people that have created their account before) think that they have more rights than newbies, and some think that the AGE on the blockchain gives them right to say what is right or what is wrong... While that seems to be logical for some, it shouldn't be like that as we should all be equal... It doesn't matter if you sell tokens or buy tokens if you power down or power up, if you create posts or you curate, if you play games or you develop them...
Unfortunately, sometimes it does look like the rules of the game are rigged, and maybe they are... But, HIVE is a growing organism and it can change... I said this before, and I will say it again... Hive changed a lot and it will change even more in the future... But, to see that happening, we need those "heated discussions", we need to clash our opinions, as it's the only way to make things better... We are different, but when we have these "hot discussions", I see a bunch of people with different approaches, but I also see people who CARE about this place and trying to find the best solutions...
Every day that passes, our HIVE is being more decentralized... Who knows where it will go, but I know that many people CARE about it... And we can participate in creating the CARING ENVIRONMENT by showing the real values of this blockchain, creating posts, and discussing with others in the comment sections... That's the main reason why I'm accumulating HIVE even when we have some dark clouds over our heads...
It's time to go back to other numbers for #MyHiveGoals... In the beginning, let's check out HiveStats...

Darn! In the last report I was writing about how I got back to my routine and how I created 5 posts in a week, and this week, I fall back to laziness... lol... Okay, it wasn't that bad, as I created 3 posts in a week, but I had the goodwill to create more... I have prepared material for one and got an idea for another one, and got smashed by ordinary things... In the end, those posts will be done, it's just a matter of time... and kicking my ass to do it... 😃
I suppose that another "demotivating" factor is that I have reached my Hive Power monthly goal and subconsciously I procrastinate things... Despite all that, in the last week, I have accumulated 224 HP, which is in my "weekly range" needed for reaching the yearly goal... Also, I have passed 69K, and getting closer to the next "checkpoint", 70 K!
Regarding my LEO Power goal, it goes slowly up... Probably slower than I would like to see, but it is what it is... The price of the token is still going down, so I'm not in a hurry to obtain more of them by buying from the market... But, I do consider that option if we would have a bigger dip... That could be a nice boost!
In the last report, I accumulated 86 tokens, this week, I have added 90 LEO tokens to my stake!
GAMING GOALS - Flexible Goals
It's not that I'm doing the talk, but also doing the walk proves my latest change in the Rising Star goal strategy... In the last report, I mentioned that I have to change my strategy and do MORE about this goal... Well, I did one of the two things that I mentioned... I have opened 12 packs more during the last 7 days and I will try to do that in the future... It will be during my Friday packs opening and instead of opening 12 packs, I will do 24 packs at once!
In the last 7 days, instead of collecting 103 cards as before, I have added 36 cards (12x3) more, so 139 cards in total! Let's see what happens to the goal numbers with this improvement...
Regarding my GLX tokens goal, I have staked all my earnings and added 2350 GLX tokens to my stake! Exactly the same number as last week... Hmmm... That is an interesting fact as I thought that the APR is still going down, but it looks like I was wrong... Maybe there are more liquid tokens on the market, or people are keeping their tokens liquid for some reason...
It's time to update the numbers and put them into the spreadsheet until the next week! So, freshly updated numbers for #MyHIVEGoals, on August 13th, 2023 are:

Congrats on the 69K, the 70k is almost there! I do love the Scorpions and it will be an interesting time to see how Hive changes and develops further. Like you said, there are no rules that people need to follow on Hive, but people can use their DV as they wish too if they have their own rules they want to enforce on others.
Unfortunately, you are right about enforcing the rules... But, isn't that the same as we had always been in human history? When you enforce people to do something, they snap and rebel... It is just the way how it works... You enforce something that's not good, exposing how negative and bad is, to be able to recognize that and change...
I was tuning in when @dhenz was talking in Ecency Discord and I was glad to hear that people like him recognize things that should change... When we have a "critical mass", we will be ready to change for the better... Until then, the work is on us...
I don't really know about human history as I don't believe any of the official history. But I would say you only need to have 20% who want change as 80%+ of people are just followers anyhow. Therefore the barrier is low to effect change if you want it.

My goal is just 1 Hiver, be the change you want to effect yourself. I remember trying to just agree on a restaurnat to eat with groups of people.. almost impossible! lol
I actually believe that there will still be more changes here as time goes on basically on how we are going to enjoy the platform more and more...
I'm powering up my little money everyday too
HIVE isn't perfect and changes are needed to cope with upcoming issues and problems... It's normal and it's good when we have open discussions about it...

First many many congratulations. Nothing is perfect in this world, changes happen with time but this platform as it is is working very well now it is the responsibility of all of us to keep people on top of it. Bring it and tell them all the good things about it and it's a good time to put money into it because after a year the market will start going up.

BEER.HIVE is indeed something unique in the crypto world and there is always talk of how to market it better or how to onboard more users but the truth is it's not the "shiny new thing" so it is almost impossible to get the "click bait club" excited in it.
I used to think this was a bad thing and everything needs to grow to be successful but since creating Rising Star just for something to do during the Covid lockdown I have realised that bigger is not always better. In fact it brings a whole new set of challenges!
As with the last 4 year BTC cycle I am sure we will see a lot of the dormant accounts become active again (because they were only here for the money) and we will see a lot of new interest just because people will have gains to use on other tokens. However I kind of like how HIVE flies just under the radar as it has become dependable.
Next year should be fun!
I suppose that you saw that heated discussion about the LEO proposal and their onboarding idea... I know how I came to this blockchain and I know (I read posts, listen to live shows, etc) that many others did the same... We came through Splinterlands, and through some guy who was creating videos about the game, in a search for earning some referral rewards... I don't know how it goes with Rising Star, but I suppose that it did its part too... and IMO, that's the best way to onboard people, through games, or through dApps...
I know that I went to other blockchains just because of DeFi possibilities, or for some dividends, etc... So, not sure about these "traditional methods"... And also, you are right about the market conditions... People are LEAVING Hive at these moments as markets are boring and nothing happens... We know that this is the best time to accumulate, but 90% don't... Those 90% will come back when prices shoot up, and they will invite friends too... But, not before that... It is as it is... It's almost impossible to change human nature... 😃
I like that too! It wasn't like this in the last bear market... Hive (and the legacy token) were destroyed... Now, we are holding nicely... I suppose that this has also a lot to do with the fact that many people are switching to HBD and HIVE liquidity is shrinking... or not... 😃
In any case, it will be interesting in the next 6-9 months, for sure!

I agree that people come to chains through dapps not through some interesting feature. I mean 20% on HBD should be enough to bring in 1000s of people but without actually using the chain for a long time you wouldn't trust it would you!
I actually found STEEMIT (and therefore HIVE) through dsounds as I was looking for somewhere to earn from my music.
Yeah, 20% on a stablecoin sounds too good to be true... Even for myself and I was researching it a lot... and I'm still not convinced that it can last... 😃

Tribalism is the default human setting... people who believe a certain way, join forces, and ultimately amplify their voice. If HP is on their side, it tends to enable the formation of whatever they desire. It's a sad reality... but it exists everywhere and in everything.
Sometimes it's just an individual that is going in a "crusade war", but it's always come back to its place... HIVE isn't perfectly decentralized, but lately, the distribution of tokens is much better than 3-4 years ago... That's a good sign for a long-term vision...
I see you keep your goals quite narrow and focussed: Hive, Leo, Rising Star cards and GLX. My goals have been spread across several 2nd tier tokens over the last couple of years, but I intend to narrow my focus in 2024. It will be more than four goals, but fewer than at present...

I was doing the same as you in the past... In 2022 and 2021, I had 6 tokens in @MyHiveGoals, which was too many... Not that I couldn't do them, but more that I lose the FOCUS for the MAIN goals... Also, with these small coins, things are changing fast and sometimes they don't survive the whole year at all... Or, developers leave them, and continuing the accumulation for the sake of fulfilling the goal has no sense...
Those were the reasons why I keep them narrow... My main goal is HivePower and it takes first place by 90% 😃 On the other side, I do have some of the tokens that you accumulate, but they aren't in my focus and I don't want to grow them at the same pace as HP, for example... WORKERBEE, LEN, LENM, CTPSB, and even POB and PIMP (don't ask why 😂)...

The automatic claim is a great Keychain feature... If we would get an automatic power-up, that would secure my HivePUM badges... 😃
It was very interesting to read your trajectory, your moments where you may not have been so active to accumulate hive power, and I feel that it has been good, I also think that in hive depends a little on your goals, if you give priority to accumulate hive power, it is a habit of every day and long term, I'm just starting and I also plan to accumulate a good amount, greetings!

Thanks for the comment! There are not too many secrets on HIVE... If you want to grow your blogging account, you have to create content consistently and you have to engage with others... It is a slow growth and everyone should be aware of that, but it pays off when you meet some friends and have some fun!
Also, I would suggest you not forget to grow your HivePower too... I see that you are coming from Venezuela and I know that you have a hard time there with bad economy, inflation, etc... But, if you can create a balance between growing your account and withdrawing HIVE, that will give you a better boost on the platform... People here like to follow and engage with people who are dedicated to the platform...
