First Impressions of HiveFest2024 .:. Walk & Talk Series

avatar

I told you that there is a chance that I will do a Walk & Talk video at HiveFest, Croatia, and here we are... I did it... πŸ˜ƒ This is not my "official" HiveFest recap post, but rather fulfilling the promise to do the video! Also, I didn't mention any Hivian by name (except one) as I don't want to skip someone... I will take my time and do it when I come back next week... For now, this video is a "teaser" for #HiveFest... πŸ˜ƒ

Created in Canva.com, with my breakfast photo in the background...πŸ˜ƒ

After 3 days of intense events at the #HiveFest, we have finally reached the calm waters where we can do some own research of the city, and take things more relaxed... I mean, if you are at the HiveFest as an attendee, you are good from A to Z, but if you had to do a presentation, it can be different... As I'm still not that comfortable in doing public presentations, I was a "bit" nervous because of our @Liotes presentation... Luckily, we were among the first presentations on Day 1, so we put the stress out of the way at the beginning... πŸ˜ƒ

You can check out the HiveFest live stream recordings at the official HiveFest YouTube account...
Day 1 - Liotes presentation (where you can check out how nervous I was πŸ˜‚) starts at 1:43:35
Day 2

Liotes Divider Blue.png

The first 3 days are always the most intense as the daily schedule of presentations and activities is full from early morning until late at night... Some of us aren't used to having so much "action" in a day, but I was amazed at the amount of energy that was among Hivians... We were tired, but nobody wanted to leave first... Just a few minutes more... Just another drink... Just another bar... πŸ˜‚

Of course, the highlights of these first days were presentations that took place in 2 days... Before they began, I had an idea to maybe skip some, check out the city in the break, or take a siesta... But... That didn't happen... Every presentation was interesting and similar, but different... and in the end, I didn't miss any... πŸ˜ƒ

This morning, I went to the bakery to buy breakfast (it is on the thumbnail)... The idea was to buy "burek" (local dish), but I didn't find it so I bought a similar thing... Salty cheese pie and the other one is a meat pie... On my way back to the apartment, I decided to make a video with my first impressions regarding HiveFest...

So, instead of reading these lines, check out the video and see how it was...

Thank you for your time,

--ph--

Video coverage pic and video view are so different Expected to see video from cafe or something like this but suddenly you are walking down the street))
Anyway it feels how many positive emotions you got from this HiveFest! πŸ‘
Glad that you had so great experience and could introduce Liotes to other participants!

Hahahahaha... Sorry that I disappointed you, but I'm not sure that I would be able to record a video in some noisy place where I could be distracted... Anyway, there are already some great videos of that kind online... Check out the #HiveFest tag and the community... ;)

Thanks for the comment and nice words... I did a video exactly for the reason that you noticed... The video says a lot more than just written words... ;)

Yes I noticed how during HiveFest and couple weeks after people become more active and write more posts about HF, about their impres ions from it or how they found new friends there))

Oh, I know what you mean... I suck at creating content "on the road" and this one was just a "short" reflection... I do plan to do a REAL HiveFest recap post going much more in detail, but I need more time and more focus to do it...
So, we will see who will be the last... You or me? 🀣

Great to hear you had a good time and met so many cool Hivers. It is cool to read all the reports and see the developments happening on Hive.

I watched the two live sessions. It was so exciting to see all the presentations and to put faces on the Hive usernames and avatars. I’d love to attend a HiveFest one day, in the future… when airplains don’t fly. πŸ˜‚

I messed up and read the whole post until I got to the end, where you wrote: "instead of reading these lines, check out the video" πŸ˜‚
It's getting very cold here, so I'll watch all the presentations in peace over the weekend.
At the time of the presentations, I was at work, I barely had a few moments to look at how it looked.

The first day was way too hot here... Today was cloudy and perfect... but colder... If it stays like this 2 more days, it would be great... :)

I hope that there will be a good weather on Monday, as that's when I have my flight back... :)

The first day was way too hot here

I saw that you were really struggling in the sun in that "glass garden".
It's a shame that such conditions and the heat from the sun caused you to take shelter in the shade so that it seemed empty.
The next day, indoors, you probably followed the presentations much more carefully?

I wish you, as well as everyone who stayed in Split, a nice weekend and good company.
And when you go home clear skies and a calm flight ✈️
Do you transfer again or do you fly directly?

Yeah, the second day was indoors, and after that, the weather changed...

Thanks for the wishes... and yeah, going the same route back... SPlit-Rome, Rome-Alicante...

When looking at the video, I was wondering whether you knew where you were walking or whether you needed GPS to find the way back πŸ˜‚.

I'm already looking forward and hope that I will manage to join other meet ups. I hope you are having a nice time in spite of the weather. I arrived safely home. Here the weather is even worse...

hehehe... I recorded it on my way back to the apartment... That was the 3rd time that I was going, so I didn't miss the way... hahaha

Btw. we mentioned you this evening as we were having a burger right on the other side of the street where your hotel was...

This. Hive is chugging along like clockwork. I hope more people will realize that Hive's power is WAY beyond "come, blog, earn" It's a powerful Swiss Army knife of tools for anybody to create a business, a game, a solution and like you said: A community.

Fortunately, we have many folks (and teams) who know this and are building these now. Short-form platforms, payment and rebate tools, DEXs, pools, you name it.

You're very fortunate to have attended Hive Fest this year. I Couldn't afford the time or money this year, but I will make it one day.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of motivation of developers on HIVE. Some great stuff is built, and some other stuff is very close to being finished... We will see what happens...
Btw. HiveFest was great this year! I hope we will meet in the next one!

That was a great presentation! Glad that we could watch it over Youtube! :)

Nice walking video too! I think the "mini bear" market has differentiated the people who are really passionate about crypto/Hive versus those who are just looking for quick money.

!LUV

P.S. A little late as I was away the past couple of days!

Oh wish I could have that confidence you show making a video while walking around! So natural!
Haven’t watch the video before, so this is what happened while I was still sleeping xD
Btw I NEED to know the name of that store where you bought it for a full review!

Thanks a lot for your kind words... ❀️

Oh, my confidence in recording these things isn't that big... lol... I mean, you can always delete your recording or don't publish it... The problem was when we had to do a presentation in front of dozens of people or do a live-stream show... As there is no way back... πŸ˜ƒ these videos helped me to do things step by step...

The bakery's name was "Pita Materina", but I think it's relatively new as I didn't find it on Google Maps... Tbh, I was searching for another one, that doesn't exist anymore?! Or it is the same... https://maps.app.goo.gl/14YsXh2hU17awUj67
