Homesteading||How I made soup from the spinach vegetables from my small garden.
I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
The first section of harvest in my garden is here and I'm happy to be able to get few vegetables to have grown to the stage of harvest. One of the vegetables that did well in my garden is the African spinach that we use to call Efo soko(African spinach) in Yorùbá dialect. The other vegetables like okro and Lagos spinach didn't grow at all maybe because the seeds were picked by Birds after the broadcasting process. The jute mallow didn't really do very well which I can only get few.
Making vegetables soup from my garden.
So but for the African spinach, they were able to grow very well even the extent that they have flowers. Today I decided to have a taste of the vegetables that I grow in my garden and if I'm to get it from the vegetables vendor, I will have to pay but because I grow it and it's easily accessible makes it a win win which depicts financially I'm a bit safe. So this was me in the garden trying to extracts few leaves of the African spinach from my garden using knife to cut the leaves from its branches.
After I was done getting the spinach leave from the garden, I washed it with clean water and then it with knite into shreds.
Getting cooked recipes ready for the vegetables.
These are the recipes for the vegetables;smoke fish, ponmon (cow skin), Tomato, Scotch bonnet, Onion, Maggi and locust beans. All this has been arranged into cooking process.
This was where I added the shredded vegetables into my recipes on the fire. After adding it, i turned it and allow it to steam together.
This is the final result. Of course I'm using the vegetables that I cooked to eat pounded yam.
Thanks for stopping by to view my blog. Please do have a wonderful day ahead.@peterale cares🤭
