Splinterlands Season 120 Report with Rebellion - by @pero82

Exciting times are upon us! Rebellion is here!
Rebellion presale started just few days ago and more then half packs are already sold! So, if you haven't already - head to the in-game shop and make sure you don't miss out on this great opportunity to be a part of this amazing card set pre-sale.
In case you missed the news about this new Splinterlands card set called Rebellion, or the details of its presale, you can read everything in this 👉 post. 👈
To sum it up, the pre-sale started on October 18th 2023. and it will end after 30 days or if packs sell out, whichever comes first. There are 500,000 packs up for grabs, and each Rebellion booster pack will have a base price of 5000 Credits or 5000 DEC, and purchasers may spend VOUCHER tokens in order to receive a discount on the base price (200 Credits / DEC per VOUCHER with maximum discount of 20%). This means that with the maximum available VOUCHER discount, each pack will cost 4000 Credits or DEC plus 5 VOUCHER tokens.
The Rebellion set will consist of 96 cards, including two limited-edition promo cards available only during the Rebellion presale, and nine Legendary airdrop cards which will be distributed via a completely new system (more on that later on).
The Rebellion edition will feature four new unit abilities which should open up a host of new battle strategies and combinations for players to use!
But that's not everything! While the new Rebellion unit abilities will bring some exciting new gameplay into the Splinterlands arena, it is in the new Summoner mechanics where the Rebellion set truly shines. The Rebellion set will feature five Rare Summoners and one Legendary Dragon Summoner, in addition to six Legendary Summoners designed by the top six pack purchasers during the presale.
Some of the Summoners in the set will be dual-element, and they will also introduce a game-changing new mechanic known as Summoner Tactics. Summoner cards with this new mechanic will have two different sets of buffs or debuffs that are available for the player to choose from after both players have revealed their teams.
Compared to this news my season report feels so irrelevant, but it was also a bit exciting. I managed to finish in the Wild leaderboard again, second season in a row, with getting into Diamond rating in Modern, advancing to higher league at the end of season, so I can collect Diamond season chests again. As it proved to yield better EOS rewards.
In this season I managed to stake another 2k SPS with most of my staked SPS coming from battle and chest rewards and some tournaments.
The USD value of my SPS portfolio went up by almost 40 USD and we saw a small rise in price of SPS (it is at $0.014 compared to $0.013 last season).
Total supply of SPS went up for 11 mil since then, total liquid dropped by another 3 mil, and total staked SPS is now 7.5 million SPS higher. My goal is to keep staking all the SPS I get until I have enough for max rewards in Gold 1 league.
I'm still buying cards, but now I'm trying to strengthen my Riftwatchers deck. This is what I managed to acquire by now.
It's funny how market works these days. Some of the cards have similar prices in regular and gold foil so I rather buy gold ones.
This season I played a mix of Wild and Modern Gold league for Diamond season chests, just like I did last season, as it proved to be an excellent choice. I continued to rent most of the important Untamed and Riftwatchers cards, so my win-rate is still very high.
I finished the season at 17th place in Wild league securing a 10,000 DEC reward, which covered only the third of my rentals costs of the season. I really have to cut back on the rentals.
Next season goal is to try and achieve similar result, but with less cards rented. That would be a great achievement.
Lets see how this season looked like in numbers.
I finished the season with amazing win rate of 76% and earned 70 Diamond season chests, together with another 184 Gold daily focus chests (which makes it an average of 12.3 chests per day).
Renting those awesome Untamed and Riftwatchers cards resulted in great performance (as it should), but still have to get better EOS to have any extra profit, or I have to optimize the rentals.
The SPS chart below shows that my SPS earnings were pretty constant during the whole season, with a big spike on the last day - that is the SPS from EOS chest.
Battle SPS is still most often much higher then SPS rewards from chests and I don't think this will ever change.
The rating chart below shows my steady climb towards Leaderboard rating, without any big dips or spikes. Starting from Gold 1 really helps, because I get to my "normal" earnings quite early in the season.
I ended the season at 3260 rating in Wild League and 2817 rating in Modern League. I advanced to Diamond in modern and got 17th leaderboard place in Wild, getting 10,000 DEC.
That's why I my rating in Wild will reset to 2050 - middle of Gold 3 league, and Modern will reset to 2350 - middle of Gold 2 league.
After pretty decent EOS rewards last season, I hoped this season will be better as I collected more chests. But it wasn't that spectacular.
Ok, I got a decent amount of cards, even gold foils, but SPS was mediocre. I did, however, get 4 CL packs, which didn't happen to me for a long time.
Naturally, I opened those packs immediately, and they were pretty disappointing.
For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole season.

I really need to redo and optimize my rentals, I'm spending way too much DEC..

And finally, for the ones that like to look at the pretty card pictures (like me) I will show you my whole season recap - all 257 of them (70 Diamond EOS, 10 daily Diamond and 177 daily Gold chests combined). 😍
You might notice those three GOLD FOIL legendary Sorriel the Bale in there. Yeah, I won that in daily chests few days before EOS.
This is the second time I got 3x GF legendary from daily chest since they introduced the soulbound reward cards. I got (don't hate me now) 3x GF Kulu Mastermind few months ago. 😆
On top of that I got a few regular foil legendaries and some gold foil epics. Daily rewards were better then EOS rewards this season.

I participated in just a couple of tournaments this season, as those cutbacks the company did last month resulted in a loss of the sole person who took care of posting official SPL tournaments. 🙁

I hope they find someone to pick up those tournaments, because it was really great part of the game and I really enjoyed playing them.

I was wondering with such a high rental are you still in profit, but at the end, there is a full recap, so I know everything. Maybe we have some tournament rewards it could look better. Do you play wild manually or with bots?
