Amazing Splinterlands Brawl #157 - TIPS & TRICKS - by @pero82
Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
Today I'm going to share with you result and battles from the latest Brawl of my clan (Tier 3 Peakmonsters Landlubbers), where we placed in TOP SPOT winning by comfortable points margin.
Our clan had 98 wins and 38 losses which resulted in 294 points, 12 points ahead of the rest of the field.
For this win the guild has won spoils of 127 Crowns and each fully participating member was awarded 6,350 Merits and 48.266 staked SPS.
This brawl I got promoted to Frey 7 which is limited to Gold level card but all cards available to play (Wild format). I played pretty decent ending up with a score of 6 wins and 1 loss - I still can't get that clean sweep without losing a single battle. This placed me in the 9th position among my clanmates, which only shows the high standard of play we keep in our clan.
My plan for this post is to go through my battles and try to explain my thought process of picking each team, and what I got right or where I went wrong.
1️⃣ Battle 1 of 7 1️⃣
First battle I played had a mid mana pool (32 mana), Ferocity (Fury), Are You Not Entertained (we can use one Gladiator card) and Silenced Summoners rulesets, with Water, Earth and Dragon splinters available.
Ferocity means that Taunt monsters will receive double damage, so we stay clear of them. Silenced summoners removes all abilities from summoners so it makes no difference what summoner I pick. In that case I always choose the lowest mana one, or Dragon splinter summoner - in this case Quix the Devious.
Gladiators cards open up a possibility of using Quora, and I love using Quora in battles. She's such a great card. I was thinking of using Quora with one of the Martyr cards in front so it gives her a nice buff, but since my opponent could pick water splinter he could take one of the monster with Cleanse and remove the buffs from my Quora and then she becomes vulnerable.
That's why I went with Water splinter thinking of how I could do that to my opponent if he picks up Quora, but he didn't. Thankfully, what decided this match was FOCUSED FIRE. All my monsters attacked his tank, while my opponent spread his attacks mixing Opportunity, Sneak and Reach monsters.

2️⃣ Battle 2 of 7 2️⃣
In the second battle we had very low mana pool (13 mana), Heavy Hitters (Knock Out) and Even Stevens (only even mana cards) rulesets, with Fire, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.
In low mana battles Lorna Shine summoner from Life splinter really shines, because she gives your whole team Divine Shield making your enemies hit you twice in order to deal damage. And with low mana pool most of the monsters have low damage so it takes them a long time to kill someone.
I filled my line up with cheap monsters, a tank and few damage dealers and simply beat my opponent with having twice as more monsters in the lineup as he went with Death splinter and two costly monsters.

3️⃣ Battle 3 of 7 3️⃣
Third battle had again a mid mana pool (32 mana), Super Sneak (everyone get Sneak), Are You Not Entertained (we can use one Gladiator card) and Noxius Fumes (everyone get Poisoned at the start) rulesets with Fire, Water, Life and Death splinters available.
Since the Martyr ability was introduced to the game, I use it in about every 3rd or 4th battle. That's how amazing it is. And this battle was one of those - I went with Tarsa summoner of Fire splinter together with amazing Forgotten One who has Immunity, Retribution and Piercing. Put a Venari Markstrat next to Forgotten One to buff him after it dies, and a high HP monster as a tank is a formula for success.
My opponent tried with Death splinter and 2 Immunity monsters, even used Zyriel, but it wasn't enough to secure him a victory.

4️⃣ Battle 4 of 7 4️⃣
Fourth battle had a high mana mana pool (58 mana), Silenced Summoners, Equalizer (all monsters have equal HP) and Noxius Fumes (everyone get Poisoned at the start) rulesets with Fire, Life and Death splinters available.
In this match I went with Life splinter and I put Uriel the Purifier as a tank, because of his high defensive stats and Heal, behind him I put Corsair Bosun with Reach, Reflexion Shield and most importantly - Cleanse to remove the Poison from Uriel. Behind them I put 2 monsters with Resurrect, Repair, Tank Heal and Triage. We can say Uriel had a full support team behind him, everything that can help him it was there.
My opponent went with mix of everything, but he didn't have cleanse, and crucially - he didn't have focused fire like my team did. That resulted in an easy win for my side...

5️⃣ Battle 5 of 7 5️⃣
In fifth battle we had a mid mana pool (33 mana), Aimless (everyone have Scattershot ability) and Equalizer (all monsters have equal HP) rulesets, with only Water and Death splinters available.
I went Water splinter and Kelya Frendul summoner, with one of the best tanks in game Diemonshark, a couple of damage dealers and full support team. In my opinion, MVP of the match was Merdaali Guardian who managed to keep Diemonshark alive for the whole match.
My opponent used Lux Vega summoner and Coeurl Lurker as tank, but he lacked more support or more firepower to be able to go out with a victory. High HP of his tank helped my team upping their health.

6️⃣ Battle 6 of 7 6️⃣
In sixth battle we had once again mid mana pool (38 mana), Armored Up (all monsters get +2 Armor), Weak Magic (magic attacks hit armor first) and Healed Out (no heals) rulesets, with Fire, Life and Earth splinters available.
This was a perfect chance to use "the king" Immortalis summoner of Earth splinter that gives whole team Void (reduced magic damage) and Shatter (breaks enemy armor on hit) abilities as well as it reduced enemy health by 1. Mycelic Infantry tank with his Shield ability perfectly goes with Immortalis as it reduces all types of attacks this way. I also used Centauri Mage for its Repair, high health and magic attack, Sporcerer for Rust, Silence and 3 magic attack. In the back line I put Martyr monster Fungus Flinger (who also has Blind) and next to it amazing gladiator card Katrelba Gobson with Bloodlust, Sneak and Double Strike as main damage dealer.
My opponent tried with Life splinter and Rathe summoner, but most of his damage was mitigated, and his support staff wasn't as effective as mine.

7️⃣ Battle 7 of 7 7️⃣
Battle seven was my only loss in the Brawl. We had again(!) mid mana pool (32) mana and (again) Noxius Fumes (everyone get Poisoned at the start), Up Close and Personal (only melee monsters) and Equalizer (all monsters have equal HP) rulesets with Water, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.
I tried with Death splinter Astral entity summoner, to reduce enemy armor and give my monsters Dodge to increase the chance of evading attacks. Because we had Equalizer I put Ever-Hungry Skull as tank because it has 10 Armor and Flying.
I tried with 2 Immunity monsters, but opponent's Kralus with magic damage buffed by summoner Delwyn Dragonscale and then again by Vruz and his Martyr was just too strong for my team. I stood no chance. Maybe I should get some Wild cards for next time... 😆

And just like that, we won the brawl! It was one of our more convincing victories lately.
This brawl result and good results in last few brawls secured me a promotion. I am now a proud member of Tier 4 clan Peakmonsters Pirates and I'm going to face much much stronger opponents, but the rewards will be far better. 💪
Let's hope I won't embarrass myself. 😆
Thank you all for reading this long post. I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time.

Excellent battles, good strategies, also the format you used for your post was great, just as a recommendation, justify the text so that it has better order. You can keep improving, good job.
