The steps I carried in making a beautiful Bubu shirt free dress with drawstring waistline for my senior Sister.
Greetings hive
Hope you all are doing very well, happy Needleworkmonday, nice to meet you all today and share with you all about the steps i carried in making this beautiful Bubu shirt free dress with drawstring waistline for my senior Sister.
I got this beautiful fabric from my sister for some months now, well this fabric was a traditional marriage uniform which i suppose to sew for her to use on that day but i disappointed her because i wasn't feel too well that month, i thank God she understands me a lot.
Omog......this fabric looks so beautiful with it's color design, everyone that sees this fabric loves it so much, since i disappointed her on that traditional marriage day, so she had a child dedication ceremony to attend then she decided to use the dress on that day, i didn't want to disappoint her again, so i promised her to expect it right away.
The procedure.
I brought out the Ankara fabric and folded it by two, since it's a Bubu dress there's no need of giving out any shape, i took her half shoulder measurements and added some allowance for the sleeves hem sewing bending, i took the biggest measurements part of the body which is the hips and added 2.5 inches for the body allowance and sewing allowance, i took the back neck width and length then i cut it out.
After cutting out the back side, i folded the fabric again by two and i placed the back side on it and cut out the front side with the same back measurements, so after cutting it out, i remove out the back and keep the front side then i marked down the "V" neck length and width then i cut it out.
I now finished with all the cutting process then i moved ahead with the sewing process, so i went and cut the fabric pieces and turned the back neck and the front neck also then i bend in the buttins front part properly.
so i went to the sewing machine and joined up the shoulder and the body front and back together.
After joining them i cut out the drawstring trapped and roop then i sew down the drawstring on the dress half length properly.
I went on inserting the roop inside the trape and i bend the down hem also.
After everything i went and bought the fancy shirt buttins and opend up the buttins trape then i also fixed the buttins properly.
Here is the outcome of the dress.
The dress was so beautiful on her and she loves it, i was so excited that i didn't disappoint her this time around because i feeled badly the day i disappointed her, how do you feel when you disappointed someone or your client even when you disappointed your sister?. I feel so excited, Well people got to love the dress so much, i hope you love it too.
