Cutting and sewing steps of a new Bubu free dress for myself to use for my sister's child dedication.
Warm greetings.
Happy and blessed day to tou all of my colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community, how are tou all doing today, i hope you had a peaceful Easter week, it was so wonderful and sweet around me, so at this point I'm herw to share some view cutting and sewing steps that i carried in making this beautiful Bubu free dress for myself to use for my sister's child dedication.
It was a great and joyful occasion, after fixing the dedication date i didn't thought of sewing a new clothes but i was thinking of managing the long one i sewn recently, to think of it i realize it will be so repeatedly on me and i sewn it in the village and wear it in the village how will i repeat wearing it again it will somehow, so i didn't know that my husband is thinking the same way and he's planning to surprise me with it too, so i didn't expect nor talking to him about it, si i wanted to travel to my village for the preparation of the dedication so he just went out and came back with this beautiful 3 yards of material.
I was so excited seeing this material although the date was almost close, i traveled on Friday which the dedication was on Sunday, so i got to the village with the material and there was no chance for me so sew it on that Friday so on Saturday i woke up very early to see if i will be able to meet up but the day was so boring and cold then i was feeling so sleepy and week, so since it was only my clothes that i wanted to do that day i decided to relaxed for some moments, after eating breakfast i brought out my brother's sewimg machine and i started with the cutting process.✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️
Folded the material by two, i draft down my full length, my half bubu shoulder measurements and i draft my hamhole length then i took the biggest part of my body measurements which is my tummy and i divided it by four the i added 3 inches allowance for sewing and for the body free, it's an easy dress which i didn't want to attach any style of combination, since i started wearing long gown i come to like it so much, so i didn't wast much time i cut it out.
So after cutting out i marked down the from the shouder point to the side pocket point and douch it, then i cut oit6 the pocket pieces and pit in the two sides pocket properly.
After putting the sides pocket i discovered that the length was too long so i had to loose it all and adjust the length then i went on turning the neck point with the pieces and then i joined the front and the back together, so i bend the hem of the dress and iron it all.
Here is the outcome of it.
It didn't took much time to finish it and it look so nice and beautiful, i like it because it very free because i didn't want something that will be so stressful for me, and the material look nice too, i hope you like it?.
Thanks so much for reading through, do have a blissful day

I love how free and comfortable it looks on you, you've done a great job with the limited time you had and the fabric is beautiful as well.
