The only anime that has made me read the manga
Wind Breaker is a good 'ol fashion kick ass anime. Although I don't think I have ever watched other strictly fighting shows before, since something like Baki just feels a bit stupid.
With Wind Breaker it is different, maybe it is the gang aspect or just that they aren't trying to make some over the top super powered beast that destroys everything.
It is just a good story that happens to kick ass.
Which is why even from season one I had to read ahead to see how everything goes down.
I don't think I will become some manga fan, but for the most part the Wind Breaker one is very fluent and I do find it interesting where as in books the scenes would be in my mind due to descriptions. Now I can just look at a panel and it covers what would have been a hundred words to describe.
The story does have some slow parts and I think reading the manga will make me at least less impatient when those episodes hit, since I know what comes after. Anyway I do gloss over the slow bits and get to the action mostly.
Anyway, Wind Breaker is a really good anime and reading experience which I did not really expect from something without mad powers, magic and special abilities.
Not to say I will go and watch other "mundane" in the life of style anime, Wind Breaker still has a lot of action and I don't care how well you draw you can never make some nonsense singer, tennis player, soccer wanker, or any other sport or daily life thing be on par with a solid blood and brawls anime. Not with cliche "powers" at least.
I am definitely hyped for season 2 but unfortunately I know it won't cover too much ground so for now I will continue the manga and just enjoy the episodes as they come as supplementary kick ass content.
