Suno competitor Tunee ~ Make your own songs

If you have tried any online music generation tools then you have likely used SUNO before. Suno is currently the leading platform with their pro version having some of the most realistic voices. The pro version also includes much more control over genre mixing and instrumentation.

The problem is that their base version is just good enough to be fun but will forever have that AI tinge to it.

A new platform seems to have come up now, and they intend to seriously compete with Suno.

Tunee.ai is a very contender for Suno, with a lot more flexibility and so far a very generous free tier.

There is a certain feel I always try to generate but am yet to accomplish it with SUNO so I figured it is a great benchmark to try on Tunee. Lyric wise I am not too concerned but do give input to improve whatever is generated.

The main feel I want is a kind of CELTIC FOLK CABARET DUET. How close to that tends to depend on the beat the AI comes up with but but it usually trends towards more dark with cello and violin and layered vocals if I can have that.

I am not too sure why anyone would only prompt "Rock" or "Jazz" because no music is truly one or the other. So it is a bit surprising how the AI does seem to latch onto a single type of vibe and won't let go easily.

Tunee does make it a bit nicer to iterate versions than SUNO but it has a very bad habit of constantly wanting to rewrite lyrics for new prompts. I think the reason their free tier is so generous is because of how "wasteful" the prompt generate pattern can be. It does give many options to get going but can quickly become a hassle for minor tweaks. Also they are in beta so I think some credit limits were removed.

Since it generates 2 songs for every change it adds up super quick that you have 20 versions all not fixing the issue you want but changing just enough to be slightly better.

As I was writing this I realized there is one setting that likely also contributed to me doing so many iterations without drastic improvement.

I think it is worth it to uncheck the "maintain harmonies" option when you are changing lyrics but want to keep the same voices. If you don't uncheck it then the voices will maintain the same tempo and for lyrics where they don't include some things it will continue to drop them due to the tempo not changing to accommodate the space.

All in all I definitely enjoy Tunee more. Here is the link to the song I was testing then maybe you can improve it or play with your own versions - https://www.tunee.ai/project/lP-u8JzqxmPTN2ReU

The lyric video is free, but to publish a music video you will need 400 credits. So technically no free account unless brand new would be able to generate one.
