Official retirement age in Belgium 66 years as of 2025

It is according to our policy makers the solution for the “greying” of our society and to keep the pensions affordable for the budget of our country. Just up the official age of retirement and case closed.
Even better, as of 2030 the official retirement age becomes 67 in our country. But is that realistic?
Cripple workers
In my opinion this is just impossible to accomplish, a lot of jobs are just not fit for people over 65, let alone 60…
Do you see construction workers building your home at such an age? Or firefighters? Or police officers?
That is just insanity, and just not realistic. Some pensions are just too high, especially for former government employees. That’s were the affordability can get set straight!
I don’t see myself doing my job until the age of 67? Do you?
