Today was another very heavy day in the Tour de France, with a four mountain stage, ending uphill in Superbagnères in the Pyrenees.
After two off-days for Remco Evenepoel yesterday and the day before, Remco still was in the white Jersey of the best young rider and in third spot in the general classification.
But from the start of the race today on the first mountain, The Tourmalet, Remco had to let the peleton go. His legs just gave up. He gave his drink bottle to a kid and one minute later gave up in tears. He gave up in style, like a gentlemen. And that really makes him bigger!
He gave up in style!
