Diyhub: How I made a simple outfit to my sister in-law

Hello my beloved hivers, warm greetings to you all, it my pleasure to share with you all on how i made this beautiful and simple outfit to my sister in-law.

I did not considered myself as a messy person because when im in the hurry i hardly fine myself eating, i did not mind if i will be payed or not i consider the fact that she normally gave me her clothes to sew, this occasion was very important, but she did not want to miss it, and i was about to travel to my village, so she wake up in the morning telling me to sew this simple gown for her, i prospon traveling because the occasion was coming up on the next day, hmmm i did not bother because i know is a simple gown, i told her that she would have gave me since to sew because i wanted to travel today but shay, that is not the case, since she did not have money to buy lining i have to manage the one i have because is similar to and i did not have money too, so i started the procedure.

The simple gown style is stranght cut but i am going to join a small gathers on the ham of the short gown, The first step is that i folded the fabric into two starting with the front side, i measured the half length and measured her burst, and her body so i have her normal shape with 2inches sewing allowance and i cut it.

This is the front side and i place it on the lining

Please pardon me because my phone normal camera have spoiled i would have show you all the step, so i manage to used my phone front camara

After finishing with the front side i place the front on the fabric again and i put 2inches for zipper allowance and i cut it.

This is the back side with lining

After that i turn the both with lining and i also put zip and join them together both back and front. After that i quickly drow this line for dat, this is what it looks like.

After joining them i cut the fabric for like 10inches for gathers, i gathered it and join it on the ham of the gown.

I now move on with the sleeves, the sleeves is quater hand not long and I'm done cutting the sleeves and i want to put an elastic on the ham of it.

After cutting the sleeve i put an elastic on the hem of it and i fix it, so the work now complete.

This is the final outcome of it.
