In a mental hospital, the medics decided to test the patients to see if they were improving. They painted a door on the wall and observed them.
The crazy people, seeing the door, tried to open it and get through, but it was no use. Others bumped into it as if they were waiting for it to open. All this time, a patient was sitting nearby, watching the others and laughing at each failure.
The doctors thought this laughing patient was now sane enough to know it was a door painted on the wall, so they approached him and asked:
“Hello, what are you laughing so much about?”
“It's because all those crazy people are trying to open that door, and they won't be able to.”
“And why can't they open it?”
“Because I'm the one who has the key!”

En un manicomio se decidieron a probar a los pacientes para evaluar si estaban mejorando. Pintaron una puerta en la pared y los observaron.
Los locos, al ver la puerta, trataban de abrirla y pasar, pero no servía, otros chocaban contra la puerta como si esperaran que se abriera. A todas estas estaba un paciente sentado cerca mirando a los demás y se reía ante cada fracaso.
Los médicos pensaron que este paciente que se reía ya estaba suficientemente cuerdo como para saber que era una puerta pintada en la pared, así que se acercaron y le preguntaron:
— Hola, ¿de qué te ríes tanto?
— Es que todos esos locos están tratando de abrir esa puerta y no van a poder.
— ¿Y por qué no van a poder abrirla?
— ¡Porque yo soy el que tiene la llave!
