A guy sees a neighbor looking for something on the sidewalk near his house. Since it's nighttime, he thinks he should be a good neighbor and help out.

— Hey, neighbor, do you need help?

— Yes, I lost my keys, and I'm looking for them.

After searching for the keys for a while, the guy gets worried because he can't find them.

— Wow, neighbor, they don't seem to be nearby. Could you explain more exactly where you dropped them? If we try dropping something, we might be able to see where the keys went.

— Good idea, I dropped them on the sidewalk across the street.

— Wait a minute… If you dropped your keys over there on the sidewalk across the street… Why are you looking for them here on this side?!

— It's because there's more light on this side.

Un tipo ve a un vecino buscando algo en la acera, cerca de su casa, como es de noche, piensa que debe ser buen vecino y prestar ayuda.

— Hola vecino, ¿necesita ayuda?

— Sí, perdí mis llaves y las estoy buscando.

Luego de buscar las llaves por un rato, el tipo se preocupa por no poder encontrarlas.

— Vaya, vecino, no parece que estén cerca. ¿Me explicas mejor por donde fue exactamente que se te cayeron? Si tratamos de dejar caer algo igual puede que veamos hacia donde han ido las llaves.

— Buena idea, se me cayeron en la acera de enfrente.

— Un momento… Si se te cayeron las llaves allá en la acera de enfrente… ¿Por qué la estás buscando aquí de este lado?

— Es que en este lado hay más luz.

Es bueno que logré causar el efecto deseado.

Y la lógica de este vecino tiene problemas, si bien es cierto que es más sencillo buscar las cosas en sitios bien iluminados, es loco buscar cosas en sitios distintos a donde los perdimos.

Y si bien suena muy loco, tengo que decir que he visto varios como este en la vida real.
