By accident, a little dog fell into a desolate jungle. He was on the bank of a stream and came across a pile of bones. The little dog felt something approaching and saw a panther walking distractedly among the shadows of the branches. The Dog thought quickly and knew he couldn't outrun the panther, and that the panther were about to discover him. He thought more and had a bold idea: he sat down with the pile of bones to gnaw on them.


The panther heard the sound of gnawing bones and approached. Seeing a small animal, it prepared to jump on it and eat it. But the dog suddenly complained:


“This panther was tasty, but I'm out of meat, and I'd like to find another one to eat.”


The panther didn't know what that animal was, but if he could eat a panther, it was better to run, and the panther ran away at full speed. The dog sighed in relief, but noticed a monkey on a branch who had seen everything.


“My friend, monkey, I hope you'll keep this a secret. After all, we don't have any problems between us,” the dog said before walking downstream.


The monkey smiled maliciously and jumped quickly between the branches until he reached where the panther had stopped. The panther prepared to attack him, but the monkey spoke quickly:


“Wait, panther. You were tricked a little while ago. That animal you saw with the bones is a dog, and it's weaker than you. If you want to chase it, I saw where it went.”


“Is that so? I'll go after it right now! Climb on my back and show me the way.”


A little later, the dog heard the panther approaching again, but accompanied by the monkey's muffled squeals. He immediately realized that the wicked monkey had told the panther everything. He thought quickly again, made a decision, and sat down with his back to the sound of his pursuers.


The panther arrived almost on top of the dog, and did so silently. At that, the dog complained, pretending not to know they were behind him:


“Why's that monkey taking so long? I ordered him to bring me another panther a while ago. And he still hasn't appeared!”


Epilogue: The panther fled again, but it didn't go hungry, because that night the panther ate the monkey for dinner.

Por un accidente un perrito cayó en una selva inhóspita. Estaba en la orilla de un arroyo y entró una pila de huesos. El perrito sintió algo que se acercaba y vio entre las sombras de las ramas a una pantera que caminaba distraída. El Perro pensó rápido y sabía que no correría más rápido que la pantera, y que estaban a punto de descubrirlo. Pensó más y tuvo una idea audaz, se sentó con la pila de huesos a roerlos.


La pantera escuchó el ruido de roer huesos y se acercó, al ver a un animal pequeño se preparó para saltar encima y comérselo. Pero, el perro se quejó de repente:


— Esta pantera estaba sabrosa, pero ya se me acabó la carne y me gustaría encontrar otra para comer.


La pantera no sabía que era ese animal, pero si se podía comer una pantera era mejor correr, y escapó a toda carrera. El perro suspiró aliviado, pero notó que en una rama estaba un mono que había visto todo.


— Amigo mono, espero que me guardes el secreto, después de todo no tenemos problemas entre nosotros. — Dijo el perro antes de irse caminando río abajo.


El mono sonrío con malicia y saltó rápido entre las ramas, hasta que alcanzó a donde se había detenido la pantera. La pantera se preparó para atacarlo, pero el mono le habló rápido:


— Espera pantera, te engañaron hace poco, ese animal que viste con los huesos es un perro y es más débil que tú. Si quieres perseguirlo, vi por donde se fue.


— ¿Así es la cosa? ¡Ya mismo voy tras él! Súbete a mi espalda y me indicas el camino.


Poco después, el perro sintió que se acercaba de nuevo la pantera, pero acompañada de los chillidos apagados del mono. Se dio cuenta de inmediato que el malvado mono le había dicho todo a la pantera. Pensó rápido de nuevo, se decidió, y se sentó dando la espalda al sonido de los perseguidores.


La pantera llegó casi encima del perro, y lo hizo ya en silencio. En eso el perro se quejó, fingiendo que no sabía que estaban detrás de él:


— ¿Por qué tardará tanto ese mono? Hace rato que le ordené que me trajera otra pantera. ¡Y todavía no aparece!


Epílogo: La pantera huyó de nuevo, pero no pasó hambre, porque esa noche la pantera se cenó al mono.
