Bavarian Crepes Day + Día de las Crepes de Bavaria [Eng+Spa]
I'm about to finish the day on Friday. The work week is ending, and March 22 has passed without major incidents. In terms of work, I have had a relaxing day in my #life. Although that worries me because income levels should not drop below safe limits for long. On personal matters, if something worrying happened, my brother saw some people on the neighboring land, where there is a communications tower antenna. They may have been scavenger thieves, or petty thieves.
The worrying thing is that if they see that the area is an easy place to enter and steal, whether it be wiring or pieces of metal, then they will behave just like an animal with its own hunting ground, then they will return frequently to steal. That is bad for security, plus it will lead to the fact that after looting the antenna, they may start robbing houses around here.
Let's better change the subject, because the matter is not pleasant, but I have no way to solve it for now. In view of this, let me tell you about an anniversary in #History that has to do with #food, and although it has European roots, it is a celebration that was born in the United States and has become popular in other countries. It's 'Bavarian Crepes Day'.

Estoy por terminar el día viernes. Se acaba la semana laboral, y este 22 de marzo ha transcurrido sin incidentes mayores. En cuestiones de trabajo, he tenido un día relajado en mi #vida. Eso es malo para la seguridad, además de que llevará a que luego de desvalijar la antena, puede que comiencen a robar en las casas de por acá.
Mejor cambiemos de tema, porque no es agradable el asunto, pero no tengo como resolverlo por ahora. En vista de ello, déjame que te comente sobre una efeméride de la #Historia que tiene que ver con #comida, y aunque tiene raíces europeas, es una celebración que nació en Estados Unidos y se ha ido popularizando a otros países. When I read about the celebration, I thought they were #crepes the same as the French recipe, but they have differences. Let's start with the obvious detail of the name, these are crepes of German origin, traditional from the Bavarian region. Although the ingredients are very similar, in Bavaria the use of buckwheat flour is preferred, and it is not necessary to let the dough rest before cooking it on the griddle or pan.
These couple of details (their ingredients and preparation), result in the texture and consistency of these crepes being a little different from French crepes, I read that they were firmer. By the way, several sources insisted that the German name for this dish was palatschinke. And it caught my attention that they emphasized the detail so much, so I thought it could have to do with a certain historical rivalry between the Germanic regions and Gallic regions, something they inherited from previous centuries. Although, I'm not sure about this point.

Comencemos con el detalle obvio del nombre, estas son crepes de origen alemán, tradicionales de la región de Baviera. Aunque los ingredientes son muy similares, en Baviera se prefiere el uso de harina de trigo sarraceno, y no se necesita dejar reposar la masa antes de cocerla en la plancha o el sartén.

I'm still curious how this traditional German dish got its day of national celebration in the United States, but I suppose it has to do with the various waves of migration that that country received over various centuries. After all, food becomes a cultural trait that is inherited and allows the cohesion of groups to improve, which is very important for communities of immigrants and their descendants.
In the case of the United States, it seems that the favorite preparation is with an accompaniment of #sweet ingredients, although there are also variations for other tastes. I read a fairly simple recipe, easy enough to tempt me to try it this weekend to see how it turns out.

Aún me da curiosidad como es que este platillo tradicional alemán consiguió su día de celebración nacional en los Estados Unidos, pero supongo que tiene que ver con las diversas olas de migración que recibió ese país durante varios siglos. Después de todo, la comida se convierte en un rasgo cultural que se hereda y permite mejorar la cohesión de los grupos, cosa que es muy importante para comunidades de emigrantes y sus descendientes.
En el caso de los Estados Unidos, parece que la preparación favorita es con acompañamiento de ingrediente #dulces, aunque también hay variaciones para otros gustos. Yo leí una receta bastante sencilla, lo suficientemente fácil como para tentarme de probarla en este fin de semana a ver como me queda.

Certainly the dish, accompanied by strawberries and cream, is delicious :)
Although crepes themselves have a fairly basic flavor, they are good for brunch, or even as part of a light breakfast.
