Social Media would be an interesting course at the university
Greetings, friends!
In just a few decades, social media has transformed from a minor networking tool into a major tool that has influenced a lot of people and has become a helpful tool that shapes business, communication, and every sector in the world. However, it has become an integral part of human life. Its impact on building people's social lives is undeniable, so for the university to incorporate, studying social media as a course will provide students with adequate knowledge of the complexities and opportunities it offers. Students who will be zealous about it would know how it is done, especially when it's studied by practical experience.
Social media as a course would come with different course outlines that would help a student focus on the specific study for the day, week, and month.
Before how I got admitted to study linguistics, my first year was all about the introduction of linguistics, history, and the types of linguistics. So the same thing will apply to the social media course. There will be an "Introduction and History of Social Media, the Evolution from Web 1 to Web 3, and an overview of the perks and the downsides of using social media, which will introduce social media and many more about this course. It will look simple at the start and in the middle study of it, it will be complex.
According to the contest question, is it a good idea that it must be handled as a course?
Yes, of course. It will be a good idea if this course is incorporated into the school curriculum for those who are interested in applying for and studying. It will expand the student's knowledge about social media, and before the students finish school, they will be able to build or come up with an idea that will either change the world of social media or build another type of social media that could be good for a particular purpose. The students would be taught the consequences of getting involved in social media, and if they engaged in that part, they would also face the consequences.
The widespread of social media is alarming these days and it should be treated fast to add to the higher school curriculum.
The social media as a course should have a modified name instead of being tagged as "social media". A modified name like communication studies, or technological studies.
Therefore, I'm in full support of this idea. Let it be implemented, it would be of great benefit to the students who want to go into the deep things of the technology. Before my children grow to the age of entering university, it will be implemented 😂. I would like it as a course, though it will be tough as different topics will be unveiled during my study. If this is accomplished in all the universities, in a few years after this study, a lot of people will be indebted, and they will want to explore in-to-to just to have the knowledge, experience, and exploitation.

One of my major points of social media education is online safety. Students would learn about online etiquette, cyberbullying prevention, and how to protect themselves online. This will prepare them to face anything that can come their way in the future
I share your idea, it seems great to put a different name from the course, that is something attractive as "effective communication of the new era" and thus make it attractive to all students. Also educating not only young people or children but all people who need it, because this includes older adults or people who still do not know how to function in these media.
This should be included at the universal level in all countries of the world, I think it would be very great to do it.
