My thoughts on Reality TV
Greetings, everyone!
In the ages past, people were into this show on television for entertainment and to educate people, but it wasn't up to the professional stage, and I'll tell you the truth that I learned a lot while seeing those programs on television, especially those short genres. What I am trying to say is that Reality TV shouldn't be banned completely because it also has a great influence on the cultural and social setting, but should be well-regulated.

However, we have many popular Reality TV shows in Nigeria that attract millions of viewers, and I would like to share the recent ones I saw, which have really blessed my life. It was the Talent Hunt.
I was scrolling through my Facebook and I saw this amazing lady who sang a Christian song with 5 modulations. I was like, what? How did she come to this level of pitching the song without a crack in her voice? It was smooth; her voice, her confidence, her boldness, her outfit, and her stamina killed the audience to the point that the judges had to stand on their feet for this lady; some cried, and it attracted a million viewers across the globe. I see this competition as a platform to give young Nigerians the opportunity to showcase their talent and to pursue it professionally and to encourage others who have backslidden to pick it up.
Since this music talent is adding value to our young people and encouraging them to stay on the right track towards fulfilling their dreams, then I don't see any reason why Reality TV should be banned, as long as it is shaping the mindset of young musicians positively
Moreso, there is this movie I watched, and I think it is something that is trending now in our generation in the movie industry. Including children to act, or shoot a movie with a high level of disrespect and insult while talking to the other actors in the scene, is not proper. Other children in homes and schools would perceive it as a norm to talk to elderly people in society, or anywhere they find themselves, reshaping values, bad character, and lack of discipline that damage reputations among our young people. There is a way it can be done respectfully, knowing fully that it is on the global screen. Like the BBNaija show, it is not really recommended. I saw this show when I was in my first year in the university, and saw how young people were following up and down, but no moral lessons to draw from there, but being argumentative, abuse in relationships, indecent dressing, and a lot more. Since that time till now, as a youth corper, I have never watched it again because no tangible lessons to learn from it, nothing interesting there but it pollutes the minds of the people. So this kind of Reality TV should be banned in Nigeria.
Therefore, my view on reality TV is that it shouldn’t be completely banned, especially the standard and modified ones. However, shows that could deteriorate societal values should come with restrictions.
This is my view on week 201; episode 03

I love the way you concluded this matter with high level of balance. TV reality show shouldn't be completely banned but restrictions could be added and the regulatory body should try and moderate some shows because it doesn't add any value.
Yes, some reality TV should be banned because there is no value added. It's just promoting immorality.
