My experience with climate change
Greetings, everyone!
This is a beautiful contest for this week and I will be glad to share my experience with climate change since I came to Kaduna State. At least from my home the weather used to be mild and conducive. When I came to Kaduna State for service, I noticed that the weather in Kaduna State was harsh and not welcoming 😂. All through my journey into Kaduna, the weather was harsh and toxic. I reached camp, and I had a face-to-face experience with the sun that almost changed my skin complexion to charcoal, but God helped me and my skin to stay intact. The heat was intense and unfavorable to many of us; at times, corp members would be called out for parade or day camp activities and always under the sun or in the rain as our national anthem song implied. However, the Sun and rain are natural phenomena that occur when due without human intervention.

Nevertheless, climate change affected me so badly that I fell sick for a month. I had a runny nose after two weeks, from runny nose to catarrh, cold, sneezing, and sore throat. It kept on coming even when I left the orientation camp, I was still having these symptoms and I also kept stooling profusely. These also happen when Introducing a new food to my system.
Moreover, people welcomed me, but the weather disturbed me; my voice was doomed and cracked, and I couldn't sing for weeks because of my health. Thank God, Kaduna State wasn't how people told me that the sun would kill me and turn me to charcoal. The sun and rain occur, which brings a lot of weather changes, and it affects humans. At the time, I did not have the power of my own to stop the sun from rising or stop the rain from falling. It's nature doing its work, and no man can stop it. These happened for us to know who God is and how intentional He is about His creatures. Revealing that there is a being who made it happen and that causes sensitive people to recognize and acknowledge a supreme power.

Moreover, while I was a child, I remember working and running naked under the rain, playing with the water, and rolling on it, the after-effect was a scratch on the leg 😂. Some played on the rainy water and unfortunately, carried them away because of the force of the water. There was a time when floods were everywhere; they covered all the wells and gutters in my area, and people couldn't go out or come in because they couldn't identify; where gutters rainy water was flooded, and people had to stay indoors for hours before they could step out. One officer in my area mistakenly drove out in his car and fell inside the cutter. This is another experience I encountered due to the change of season or climate. A lot of houses collapsed and people's properties were soaked. Nature is powerful and can destroy lives and properties.
