I reported to the orientation camp on Thursday
Greetings, everyone!
At this very moment, I want to share this with you as my throwback experience of my journey to my orientation camp as a corper in Kaduna State. It was a day's journey from my place to the orientation camp. I left home on Tuesday and arrived at my orientation camp on Thursday this day made me remember a lot, the vehicle I entered, the hours I spent on the road, and right inside the vehicle that boarded me, I met a good friend, fortunately, we were going the same direction as well as the orientation camp, we came down from the car, and we exchanged pleasantries by a hug and names. We stood there and boarded a tricycle to the orientation camp; reaching the gate, we were checked in by showing our call letters, and then, the security checked out luggage; if there were any sharp objects like knives, forks, extensions, and many more. My fork and pen knife were taken away from me, and many objects were taken away from others, too.
My luggage was loaded in one small trunk to the female hostel and we paid some amount of money for that. After that, I and my new friend proceeded to the multi-purpose hall for registration. It was a long queue and I was exhausted at a point because we were much. My friend's brother was working as one of the clients there, so he helped her out and I joined too, but one thing I didn't print out my addendum, so I rushed out to print it out, I came back and she had already gone far in her's, I didn't have any choice than to join the queue. It was by joining the line that I met people from my State and the same school, and another friendship was established; at that sport, I met new friends again. God's delay is never, God's denial.
However, following the queue, I also had the opportunity to meet with my platoon officer one-on-one; at the point of getting my Khaki, he got to know me because I met with him 3 times before I got the uniform. A day came when my headdress was stolen, and I went to him and made a complaint; he gave a response that piqued my interest to get closer to him, and after three days, he gave me another headdress, and I was so happy with him.
Moreover, the day I arrived in Kaduna State was a blessing for me, and everything worked out well for me. Thursday, 26 May 2025, was the first day and time I landed in the northern part of Nigeria. No relatives, but I met relatives from the body of Christ, and they were a blessing to me. So this is me feeling free and at home in Kaduna State. I thank God for a safe journey too.
I love, I care, and I forgive
