To start with the good side of my country, Nigeria. I like my country to be a peaceful country. Currently, I am based in Kaduna State, where I was posted for my NYSC to serve my country. I thank God, the State I was posted to is very peaceful and a good place to be, and I really enjoyed my service year in Kaduna State. No attack of any kind, always free to tour around the city of Kaduna State with a sense of security and freedom to relate to people, regardless of their background, culture, or language.

However, one outstanding thing I so much like or am impressed by about my country, Nigeria is the fact that it introduced a scheme that brings peace, unity, integration, and reconciliation among the Nigerian youths. This scheme was introduced by Yakubu Gowon, the Nigerian military officer and former Head of State of Nigeria, in 1973. From that time to this time, NYSC has still been holding for young graduates to get paid every month, and to learn other skills that will add value to their lives and the future. And it has blessed a lot of Nigerian youths, and through this scheme, some got retained at their PPA, some started a business through what they have learned, some saw their wives or husbands, and settled down in the State they were posted to. Same had confidence and boldness to do something different because of their exposure.

In the long run, the Nigerian Christian Corps Fellowship, NCCF was established by Rev. Dr. Sam Amaga in 1983, in collaboration with the NYSC scheme to provide spiritual enlightenment and discipleship for the youth graduates as they are enrolling in this scheme for a year, not just to stop at earning allowance but also to provide spiritual growth that would bring transformation and clarity of purpose to the young minds. In this process, young graduates have come to stay together to serve the lord and also met with their partners. This God is great, every one of His thoughts is good, not evil.

This is one of the amazing things that I'm so proud of in my country, Nigeria, and some of the youths who are positive about this scheme would see the results of it.

Another aspect that I felt so bad about my country is that, there is no love, to the extent of a brother killing his brother, either by stabbing or in another way. Yesterday I was strolling through my Facebook page, and I saw a seller in the market having a misunderstanding with another businessperson, and one thing led to another, that he removed a knife and stabbed the other person to death and blood was gushing out, business couldn't continue, war in the market square, a fight sprouted. In my country, there is no love expressed towards other people. The reason we are having a war in my country is that there is love.

I recalled the incident that occurred last in Benue State, where young Fulani children, were going from house to house to kill innocent people, which was not ideal.

Way forward

Let love reign in our hearts. Love constrains, forgives, is patient, and perseveres. When there is love, there are deadly actions or decisions that you will not be able to take.

This is my response to the Hivelearners featured contest week 205 episode 3

I love, I care, and I forgive
