Once upon a time, there lived a widow who had a beautiful young daughter. Her husband died when the child was still a baby, so she was left to take care of her little baby alone, and she has always done that with so much joy.

Gabriella grew up into a very beautiful maddie; she was very respectful, and that made everyone love her. Gabi was known by everyone as a very intelligent girl; she was the best in her class, and the teachers loved her so much. Her mother was really proud of her and made sure she got what she wanted.

Gabi has always wanted to be a doctor when she grows up, so that made her study hard. When it was time for her to take the scholarship exam so she could go study at the university of her choice to study medicine, she went for tutorials and also read on her own at night. When the result came out, she passed with flying colors, and she was so happy, as was her mom. Her mother even threw a celebration for her daughter to celebrate her success and also wish her luck.

The day she left for school was a very solemn day for everyone. Her mother said she would really miss her daughter, but she had no choice. Gabi got to the school hostel that day and met with her roommates, who were nice to her. "It would be really hard to fit in," she said to herself. After she was able to settle in, the dorm manager called a meeting for all the freshmen, and she was part of it. He wanted to give them an orientation so they wouldn't find it hard to fit in with the people in the hostel and also in school. Everyone in the hostel was nice to her, and they complimented her beauty, except for a girl who was always on her neck from the first day she came to the school, but she did not allow that to bother her; she continued with her normal ways, attending class and studying hard. There were times when she went out with her roommates, but she did not allow that to affect her studies—not until she met Fred.

When Fred came into her life, at first she always ignored him until she finally gave in to his proposal, which was the worst mistake of her life. That was because Fred was a bad guy in the school; he moved with bad gangs, and they did notorious things, but Gabi had no idea about all of this. Even when her friends warned her about it, she still did not listen; she would tell them that Fred was not that kind of guy.

After two months of being together with Fred, Gabi started to lose focus; her grades dropped too, which got her so worried that she couldn't even tell her mother. Whenever her friends bring up the issue, she will say that she's in love with Fred and that he's not the bad guy they think he is.

Exam period was coming near, and Gabi needed to study hard to improve her grades if she really wanted to be what she has always wanted to be and also to make those who believed in her proud, so she told Fred that they won't be seeing for some times as she has to study more, since they had an upcoming exam and she wouldn't want to fail, but instead for Fred to understand her decision and support her, he got angry and said Gabi was cheating on him and she only needs excuse so she could be with her other lover, Gabi tried to explain to him that he should not think like that, that she needed to study hard as her grades dropped, she needed to fill the places she missed, but Fred wouldn't listen to her, he just walked out.

Gabi was sad, but her future was more important to her, as she was in a race to succeed. She began her study class again, and she began to catch up on the places she had dropped. The exam day came, and she prayed before she went to write the exam. She finished her exam and came out of the hall expecting a good result. Later that evening, her friends asked her to go to a party with them to clear off the tension of the exam, which she agreed to as she had nothing to do and Fred wasn't picking up his phone.

They got to the party venue, and everyone was dancing and having fun when she suddenly saw Fred with another girl. She was so heartbroken that she left the place immediately. When the result came out, it turned out she had passed the exam, and now she can graduate and become the doctor she has always wanted to become. She called her mother and told her about it, and her mother was so proud of her and prayed for her.

A few months later, Gabi and her roommate graduated from the university, and they were all offered a good-paying job. She was able to make those who believed in her proud.
She later got the news that Fred and his gang were arrested for robbing a bank, and she was happy that she didn't allow Fred to ruin her race to success. THE END.
